Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve reviews
17This is such a great place to hike! Sometimes no one is there, Sometimes many.but every time there's something new and different! Great flora and fauna.andcexcellent biews and vistas!
Fun hike! Can be long or short; great when traveling with kids! They agreed that the incline at first was total worth the views!
One of the few remaining places in California that show what California was like before being colonized by American settlers and California Mexican land holders.
Beautiful Hike at Torrey Pines. I did not use the designated parking area $20 or the Coaster $15. I parked in the neighborhood and walked 15 minutes (free) to the trailhead.the hike out and back varies depending on where you park or which trail you decide to take. It goes from 2.2 miles up to 5-6 miles. Enjoy ️️️️️?
This is a wonderful way to experience San Diego's beauty and history. Go early and enjoy the trails. Spend some time in the gift shop and learn about the park from the staff. There are fantastic and unique gifts to buy!
We parked outside the park and walked in. Unfortunately trails were closed due to yesterday’s rain but we enjoyed the hike up the road. Recommend parking outside the park and walking in.
Fantastic walking paths. Excellent scenic view. Options for more challenging trails. Great atmosphere and diverse adventurers.
Nice park, but not a must see. If have some limited time in LA/San Diego - you can skip this one. Especially if you are not much of a hiker. We saw a lot of people who come there to jog and run in the morning, read a book in the park, do a longer hike - mostly locals.
Go here if you got about 2 hours of free time and you feel like hiking. Go in the morning - it’s easy to park and not crowded to walk.
Five stars for the perfect San Diego hike experience.
One star for $20 charge to park (even for 30 minutes) at a state park- which is already funded with our tax dollars.
Amazing hike.you can park at the bottom of the climb and or by the beach, or drive up to the top.at various points there are various trails that are all beautiful.we went through the razor trail the yukka trail and the beach trail which led all the way down.the views through the entire hike was amazing and the beach walk leading back to the parking area was also perfect.would definitely recommend this to everyone, wasn't an intense hike at all
Visited Torrey Pines Reserve Lodge and Visitor Center. Great, short hikes to few beautiful view points Fresh air, great views of Torrey pines Beach, Pacific ocean, valleys, mountains, cactus trees and much more. Just a great place to do some walking and light hike. Loved it. Even good for children and older adults.
Short trails and a longer beach trail to the beach driving to the top of the park, where there is parking.views looking North all the way to Dana Point and South to La Jolla. You can park down below and walk to the top which will give you more of a work out. Torrey Pines are unique to this Park and an island off the coast. No dogs or mountain bikes allowed which I find refreshing for walkers. But go south of here at the border of Solana and Del Mar and your dogs can run free without leashes and swim in the ocean at Dog Beach right across from the racetrack.
The views are breath taking and worth the physical effort you must exert to get to the top (from the beach). There are several trails for you to explore. Parking can be a challenge especially during the weekend!
Incredible hike. Did the Saigon trail, up and down, it was breathtaking. If you don’t have proper shoes, barefoot is the way to go.
Beautiful ocean views. Access to beach has steel steps. Hiking is generally not to difficult. All ages were seen on the trail.
Traveled here in June, when it was super overcast. It’s a fantastic beach, especially for a photographer looking for multiple types of location spots (sandy beach, rocky shores, etc.).
I recommend going earlier in the morning because the parking lot can fill up.
Restrooms were clean and the beach, overall, is well taken care of. Trash cans are available nearby.
