Total Health Dental Care reviews
13I had a bad toothache and needed to get in quick. I was able to get an appointment the next morning since I called pretty late. Glad they were able to see me because I had an infection and needed to start antibiotics immediately. I was also able to schedule my root canal. They have always put the needs of their patients first. (This post should have gone out awhile ago, I forgot to hit post)
I had a cleaning today. Loved the atmosphere Very professional. Fast service …I highly recommend Total Health Dental care,
Excellent care and staff. State of the art technology and treatment. Very pleasant office.
Very nice staff and my dentist is super nice too. The service is high class. I am so happy i chose this dental clinic.
I’ve been going to Total Health Dental Care in Pleasant Valley Rd for over 6 years. Dr. Calciano saved my dental health. She’s incredible. The team at this location is so caring and considerate. The dental assistants are always non judgmental and really helpful. This is the best dental care I’ve ever had. I’m scared to even try another place after being with them.
I've been going to total health dental in Piedmont, for a little over 7 years. My experience has always been exceptional. This last visit, my hygienist Foram was fantastic, the best yet. She was super knowledgeable, thorough and quick.
Love the staffing at total health, thank you for all the help, will schedule my next cleaning soon
Everything went swimmingly. Easy check in. Friendly staff. Whoever is running this place is doing an amazing job!
Really great cleaning experience with Minh. Also, really great receptionist and scheduling. Two big thumbs up!
I was seen earlier which was great for me, they are always friendly and flexibility, great place.

I have been a near 20-year client of this office. My whole family goes to THDC, including the orthodontist in downtown Oakland. I've had numerous major dental procedures and have always felt I and my family were getting the best care. The staff are always lovely and know us by first name. But I must say I've been really discouraged in the COVID/Post-COVID years, as the organization has had many consolidations and automations, and increasingly we have been continually disappointed by the organization's shifting structure. I am a consultant and my husband runs a small business; we've gone in and out of corporate and individual insurance plans and are quite used to paying a lot for dental care. THDC's own insurance was commensurate with other insurance policies on the open market and made sense for us. But this year they shifted to a plan of $50 a month, per family member, in effect doubling the cost for my family. This runs counter to their claim of making dental care accessible to everyone. Also, I used to have no problems scheduling or shifting appointments. My daughter is at their new Orthodontist affiliate office, and calling to reschedule an appointment is confusing and awful-there's no direct number; I had to call another office after trying their easy online chat function. The chat bot was responsive but unhelpful. Now, with every appointment, I am sent 10-12 virtual documents to fill out on my phone, literally 10 mins before the appointment, which I'm learning to ignore. I am bombarded with appointment reminders and indicators to schedule an appointment or cancel no less than 3 days out or I incur another fee. This, after years of seeing the same smiling staff, none of whom I see anymore. I think I will need to shift gears and go to an unaffiliated dentist, which won't be easy, given THDC is taking over the East Bay.
