Enjoyed the 4 nights stay.

Just some facts:
Wooden floor rooms
Windows are installed, you can not open.
Small refrigerator, no freezer, Kurig machine, a safe in the room.
Roomy garment hanging bar, drawers.
Never turned on the TV but seems big.
No room cleaning service and no bell service but it says that you can ask replacements of room needs by texting.
The bungalows don't have elevators to 2nd fl.
The water slide running time 10a-5p, pool closes at 10p
Large Pool and good size of jacuzzi (8-10pp) but heavy on chlorine
Polite crews
Constructions on going right next to the resort - starts early in the morning and very loud. No shade or views due to this building.
Texting customer service offered
Good vibes, live music by the bar
Claiming no smoking resort but saw few smokers and cigarette butts for days not picked up until check out.
The restaurant ARLO seems open only at the weekends.

This place was great! Great hotel for families with kids! Loved the pools and water slide and loved how it was right by the trolley. We will definitely stay here again.

We really liked the place, rooms are comfy and big, only bad thing is the noise, seems the rooms are not noise insulated

Definitely one of the best local hotels/resorts I've been to. Heated pools, water slide and firepits throughout the property to warm up next to. Surprised how good the food was too. Service was also excellent.

Need to make it easier to get your room clean. I understand the need for COVID precautions but when staying for 7 days someone should have come in and replaced my dishes, which were all dirty after 2 days

We had the best time here. Pool and jacuzzi was relaxing and our son enjoyed all the amenities especially the water slide. Beds were comfortable

For the cost, plus $25/day parking & $20/day resort fee I wouldn’t stay here again. There’s not really anything we used here to pay $20/day for. We only sat at the fire pits a few evenings while having drinks at the monkey bar. The food at Lapper is ok, but we had our Thanksgiving dinner there for $35/plate & it was not good at all. Service that day was a joke. The food seemed to have been sitting under heat lamps for long periods. The mashed potatoes had a thick gelatin like layer on them. When we asked about the rolls they brought us grilled hamburger buns! The pie wasn’t good either. The salads were the only good part. Rooms are comfortable & clean. Do know there’s no microwave in the rooms. I thought since we had a fridge, coffee maker & wet bar we would have a fridge. The resort is kept clean. The staff at the Monkey bar were great, but if you don’t do happy hour drinks are pretty expensive. Plus the description of the drinks online are not what you get. Remember that $25/day parking? Well if they have a conventional or party going on hotel guests don’t get parking by their rooms & have to park in the far parking lot on the opposite site of the grounds which is actually where the ppl for the convention should be parking. Front desk doesn’t care. Just told us 1st come 1st park. We haven’t had any issues parking until we came back from dinner & there’s a party starting. The actual resort has been redone & I do love the vibe of it. But for the cost of the room plus all the additional fees I’d stay somewhere else on our next trip down here.

Actually a pretty fun hotel to stay two or three nights! Food can be a little pricey like most hotels but delicious, nice Large heated pools, kids pool, water slide, resort-like environment and sweet bar for us grownups. Aside from the lack of towels and pandemonium in the pool area during busy times, this is one of my new favorite hotels in San Diego for a local getaway, and daily rates are very fair for such a nice, centrally located resort hotel.

This place is SO cool. Pardon the long review but this new property deserves some intel so folks can get the feel for this place.
First of all, the VIBE, the so cal mid century VIBE.
Something to be cherished, before the world gets so crazy and complicated, and it’s lost. Cali mid century was hip, fashionable and modern. And Town & Country pays respect to the birth of modern cool. What a VIBE.
If you want to stay near the sites to see in SD, and enjoy a huge pool (pools), plenty of outdoor amenities (places to eat, fire pits all around, with food, drink, jazz and other live music) - this is the place.
Old town is a shirt Uber away, parking is easy for those driving to Town & Country.
Their on site restaurant ARLO has extraordinary fresh and creative cocktails and cuisine (seasonal and freshly sourced). Where’d they get the chef? Bravo!
AND- the new confence center - excellent. I’m here for a confence, and they just opened during the COVID pandemic. They are doing an amazing job for Newby’s.
I’m amazed at what they’ve created during these hard times. They already created an amazing and REALLY cool property and you they are clearly focusing on successful fine tuning. This place is going to be a vacation and confence destination like no other.
The bungalow rooms are small old school but clean and modern. (Bungalows are the original hotel from the mid century modern era: I hinted that I wanted to stay there when I booked and they paid attention to place me in a bungalow room.) The amenities are all there (no, you don’t have to go downstairs at 6 am to fetch coffee and you don’t have to buy a $5 bottle of water (two were in my room free). The beds a so comfortable and there’s all the stuff you need, in room safe, etc. The bungalows will be the last phase of renovation but they are modern and contemporary even now.
When in Cali and at this property, you hang out in the glorious outdoors, among the plentiful outdoor amenities- you want to be outside in the sun and breeze by the fire pits or in the pool- who cares how big the rooms are? This is not the land of lake effect snow or a place where you need a hermetically sealed indoor playground.

There’s several bars and restaurants, great location and plentiful brand new confence space.

I’ll be back (in vacation sooner than later)

Very comfortable and affordable. The complex is huge! Big pool for the kids and a bar and restaurant for the adults. Little something for everyone.

This is an iconic San Diego hotel especially for me play for me many Christmas parties there much debauchery the battery. But they have a cool little dog park we'll dog park behind it that's kind of a nice river walk

This is NOT the same stale, tired retirement house hotel as it once was. It has been reborn into a multi complex, modern, stunning new hotel that has a beautiful big lobby, modern rooms, updated new restaurant and of course a swanky cafe/market with quick food on the go. They still have a small section of the old bungalow style rooms in the center and they have preserved their history by keeping some of the roses. I think that is cool.
Great staff, a new upscale contemporary style awaits you at former Town and Country Hotel. I believe they haven't decided about a name change because I think they want to be called "Society"
Go with the new name to match your new look. Beautiful job.

Honestly. For as much as I paid I expected more. We just moved here and were waiting for an apartment. We were going to stay here until that happened but now we're leaving Wednesday.
We've extended 3 times and every time the price goes up started at 125 a night and now they're quoting me close to 200. I think not. We've already had a leak in the ceiling of one room and the cable doesn't work in this one. No room service due to COVID-19, they shut the bars and restaurants. Down at like 8 because it isn't busy, parking costs extra, resort fees are extra. Ithey won't give us a receipt I've asked for one 3 times today to three different people because I need it to be reimbursed, it's like they don't want us to see what they're charging. They supposedly don't have a rewards program, but their website says they have a cash back program. We would've been here at least another 7 nights which they probably needed seeing as they are at 10% occupancy, but nope. We're gonna move to a different hotel.

Paid $200 per a ticket for a concert includes dinner, and they charge 700% per a bottle of liquor? ! Beyond ridicules, for dinner they serve chicken thighs! Really? ! You can't be that cheap to serve chicken? Too expensive, I don't recommend it at all.

Dog friendly. They have a little park for the dogs. Just a short walk to the train and the mall. This would be good for children also.
