Town Center True Value Hardware, Palm Desert CA

Had to go to two stores to get what I needed but the staff made sure everything at the sister store was ready for me, thank you. Customer service is not dead here and my project is in the book!

I recently visited this store, and my experience was far from satisfactory. Unfortunately, the cashier, an older lady, treated me with a complete lack of courtesy and respect, giving the impression that she didn't want me to shop there at all. Upon placing the item on the counter, I received no greeting whatsoever. The cashier proceeded to scan the barcode and loudly announced the transaction amount. Despite expressing gratitude after the transaction went through, I was met with a very salty 'thank you' for no apparent reason.

To make matters worse, her parting words 'Bye' carried a tone that one would typically associate with a less than polite phrase. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable, and it has left a lasting negative impression. In light of this experience, I've decided that driving an extra 5 minutes to Home Depot is a small price to pay to avoid encountering this kind of discourteous treatment in the future. It's disheartening to encounter such behavior in a retail setting, and I hope the management takes steps to address this issue for the benefit of all customers.

Despite receiving assistance from another store employee in finding the item I was looking for, I have decided never to return to this store.

The customer service at this store is exceptional. Every time I walk in the door, I am immediately greeted by a friendly employee who asks, “is there anything I can help you find? ” This is the exact opposite of the experience I encounter at the nearby big box home improvement stores. The staff at this True Value store are always generous with their time and they stick with me until I have everything I came in to purchase.

I have also found the staff to be very helpful in providing advice on solving home improvement / home repair issues. This is exactly what I experienced with James and Jeff regarding a screen door issue, and also with Bill regarding a shower valve replacement.

It is nice to see a locally owned business succeed in the same market that is dominated by the big box retailers. The customer service that this store provides highlights the value of the neighborhood hardware store. This store knows the various local home communities and understands the needs of those communities. They stock many products that are specific to the needs of these local communities, in my case the Rancho Las Palmas community.

We love this little hardware store. While they don't have everything the bigger places have, they have exactly what we need 98% of the time so we always come here first.

The employees there were top notch. Knew all the necessary questions I had and was very knowledgeable and friendly. Prices were so reasonable too!

Good people work here. The Tennessee transplant was very friendly. Like MacArthur said, "I shall return ".

Great service from everyone I had questions for. All the things you need without the huge store without any service. Love the convenience and quality plus easy in and out.

They pressure you to help once you're through the door, so I buy their recommended drill bits, they break, I try to return, they refuse due to using in wrong material, they take no responsibility for recommending. Never again.

First time visiting this True Value. In need of multiple items to complete a job for a customer of the Co. I am employed with, and under a deadline crunch. The moment I entered, BAM! I was greeted and asked what I was looking for to start or complete what I was working on. No sooner had I relayed my need, I found myself being escorted directly to the aisle AND EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! As well as the additional items required to complete the job. Walked in, less than 5 mins.at register paying, and on way back to jobsite. FAST, FRIENDLY, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE! I will definitely find myself headed to the True Value at 44-429 Town Center Way, Palm Desert, in lieu of those 2 Big Name hardware places. Jeff Lohman and all his staff know how to treat a customer, and GET YOU WHAT YOU NEED WHEN YOU NEED IT! My hat to you, Sir, and your staff. KEEP UP THE GREAT SERVICE!

If a 0 was possible this store would get. The rudest most obnoxious employee that literally drove me out of the store by his disgusting behavior towards another patron. When I called him on
being nicer about it he started arguing with me! I will never step foot in that store again. Atrocious customer service!

Great hardware store, excellent helpful staff you don't have to spend time looking for stuff like in the big box stores, near Whole foods shopping center. Need screen door or window screens repair or replaced, this is the place.

Yes the prices may be a little hire then the you know stores, but what you get at this True Value is top notch quality service skilled workers! It's well worth every penny. My go to hardware store.
