One of the best places to have your morning bagel & coffee. The best customer service, everyone is extremely friendly.

Amazing and aboslutly delicious! The quiche and bagels are to die for and the staff is just as amazing. I literally will not eat a bagel from anywhere else. They have ruined all other bagels for me.

Best bagels in the valley. There's always a line, which tells you something. I like the size and density of the bagel!

Great shop, I love all their baked goods. My waist line can prove it.
It's my go to shop for Poppy Bagels

I liked the bagels. They can be tougher and smaller than some other places, so not everyone will like their bagels. Also, check their cream cheese spread ingredients. Their chive cream cheese has white and red onions in it and some people don’t like that. I was fine, but others wouldn’t touch the spread.

Over hyped place that sells tiny rock hard bagels to tourists who love to line up for everything. I ordered half a dozen of bagels cut in halves. The staff only cut three of them and left the other three intact. How do we cut these rock hard tiny bagels without cutting ourselves? ! I also found out later on Yelp that they had a health code violation - something about not having vermin proof. Yucks! Good luck fooling the tourists.

Re response from shop:

No, I did not contact the shop about the tiny rock hard bagels that cost $1.75 each or the fact that staff were sloppy. I don’t think customers are required to contact the shop first before posting a review.

Regarding the vermin proof issue, the health authorities did not describe it as a water leak as that would not be a health code violation. By the way, water leak in a bagel kitchen can also be quite yucky. Was that the reason you were cited in the first place? The other issues noted including lack of air curtain and self closing doors similarly indicate a lack of cleanliness and care generally. The shop is located in a low rent area not known to be tidy to begin with. I’d suggest that instead of being defensive and attacking your customers who post honest reviews, you focus on investing a small portion of the profit you make back to the kitchen so it meets the minimum standards of public health control. And maybe pay your staff more so they are not rude and stressed all the time.

Saw this place getting hyped on instagram and wanted to visit on our way to Joshua tree. It did not worth the detour. There are a million bagel places that can serve this faster and better. We waited more than 20 minutes just for this and Bagels were harder than a stone and not tasty (probably because they toasted it wayyy too much)

I had a great time at the shop. I was warmly welcomed and all of my questions were answered. The Becky was delicious. I kept asking for things to be done and was greeted with a smile. All of the Js gave great services! Don't miss this spot when in town!

My husband and I tried Townie's for the first time in July while we were visiting Palm Springs. We were pretty disappointed. We got two plain bagels to go, but we were surprised by how small they were compared to other bagel shops. The outsides were also kind of crinkled and had lots of air bubbles on them almost like they were over boiled or something. They just didn't look appealing. They tasted okay, but not memorable. I guess it could've been a bad batch, but I don't know why they would have given them to us if it was.

Love jalapeño bagels and townies has a balanced flavor throughout each bit. I also ordered a sourdough loaf and a cinnamon raisin. All of it was fantastic.

From waiting in line out the door up to paying, I didn't really know what I wanted as I only had a minute to look at the non-descriptive menu. Couldn't tell what bagels they had left as the signs on their baskets were all over the place and got confused when they moved them around. Having been my first time and didn't want to hold up the long line, I just grabbed whatever and moved on.
They have a QR code outside for their menu but didn't work for anyone's phone in my party. Perhaps the code was too faded was our guess.

Very disappointed. Bagels were just terrible! But the staff who work there were above and beyond the best! Very friendly, welcoming and efficient.

First visit to Townies. Modest line to get in. Service was fast and the line moved quickly. Townies offered a good variety of bagels, such as cinnamon raisin, onion, french toast, jalapeno, in addition to plain and others. Their method of boiling then baking the bagels produced a nice bite and chew experience.
They offer more than bagels and sandwiches e.g, bread loaves, savory scones. The regular brewed coffee was nice, not bitter or weak.
Small inside and outside dining areas. This place is an obvious favorite local shop. Be warned though, they close at noon or when the bagels sell out.
