Trattoria Don Pietro - Sicilian Italian Cuisine reviews
15Pizza not bad, Calamari ok, rest of food was good. Pasta was amazing. Service was slow, very nice staff but overwhelmed and made it slow.
I went there on Friday night I had a bruschetta salad with a very tasty eggplant… everything was good! I recommend it… prices are very fair… the deco is very nice…
I was quite disappointed. So many good reviews so I wanted to try this place for sure. The food was good, but not the best. I was expecting to be wowed. Apparently they took out lasagna from their menu.what Italian place does not have lasagna? ! The protein to pasta ratio was very off. It was like you just ordered plain pasta. Decor and ambiance were nice, warm and welcoming. Our server was very attentive but the one thing that really got me disappointed was that I booked the reservation with specifics for a birthday dinner but no mention of it. No greeting, no tiny candle on the desserts we ordered. No effort was made to make it special.
Food was amazing - bright and comfortable patio with lots of sunshine.
Wonderful time overall - suggest for lunches and dinners with friends and family!
The food is good, and the service is great! Rosario has a great attitude and a happy energy!
I got Bread Pudding today for my daughter and it was so hard that we couldn’t even cut it with a knife.
It ruined my entire surprise for her.
Had my birthday dinner here and it was amazing. Our waiter was great and very friendly. Food & drinks were AMAZING! Parking was pretty easy plus they have Valet parking Will definitely be back.
Food was great! The aesthetic was beautiful and the service was excellent. Beautiful flowers, ambiance, and great overall vibe! Rosario was very attentive and his cheerful attitude really sold the night! Will come again!
We had Maile and she was the best waitress ever! So kind and was so on top of it. Highly recommend her!
It is rare that I been to a restaurant and Ieave completely disappointed and this was one of the rare moment. Even if not crowded the service was slow and some waitress were confused. As soon we got a table they were supposed to clean and have us sea but nobody came to clean anything so we just got annoyed to wait and sear. Then food was all a mess, the pasta for my daughter was overcooked and bland. My gnocchi were supposed to taste like truffle.but no.my son margherita pizza was so sad that he didn't finish it and my wife ravioli looks good but taste bad and they taste exactly like the Giovanni Rana stuffed ravioli that you buy at the grocery store. As last, the lady at front wad a little bit rude with my wife and that do not make the experience more pleasant. They are lucky to be in a touristy area were 90% of the people don't know what are they eating and think to eat real Italian food. It is sad because Don Pietro is supposed to be a Sicilian trattoria but nothing was even close to a real Sicilian dish. Skip this place if you can or if you expect to eat "Sicilian" dishes
This service-forward gem of an eatery makes my heart sing each visit. I’ve dined at the bar, in the dining room and in both outdoor areas, always charmed. It’s owned by a Sicilian family that’s long been in the industry. Tasty food, beautiful wine list, excellent cocktails. A rare place that invokes sheer joy each visit.
This restaurant was a new adventure that we tried in San Diego's Old Town and DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The ambience, inside and out, are exquisite. The kind of place that is sophisticated and well dressed, yet very down to earth and entertaining. The service was impeccable from beginning to end, presentation of wines was on par with the finest sommelier service you could ever ask for. The orrechiette with Italian sausage and green olives was absolutely spectacular. The gnocchi was prepared with a delectable bourbon cream with mushroom and garlic and fresh basil. Oh my actual God it was to die for. The cocktail aperitifs were very good, the chianti wonderul, and the moscato - the best I've ever tasted. Will definitely be back.
The food was good, and our server Rosario was very attentive to our needs.
The lamb chops was very well seasoned
In town for a graduation and dined here on Friday night. We were seated outside which was nicely decorated and had heaters which made the evening pleasant. I have Italian heritage so I am finicky about Italian food In restaurants. I started with the caprisi salad which is sliced fresh tomatoe, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and balsamic vinegar drizzle. Main course was lobster ravioli with crab sauce and an order of garlic bread. The pasta was perfect, fish was fresh and the garlic bread made with olive oil and fresh garlic. Other members in our party had rigatoni with a red sauce that tasted homemade and the lamb chops which came with 8 ribs! Everything tasted like authentic Italian cooking and reminded me of dinner at my Italian aunts house! The waiter gave us a choice of water, regular or sparkling and I was pleasantly surprised when he brought imported bottled sparkling water. I had the Emerald cocktail which had ammoretto, vanilla vodka, and vanilla cream. It was excellent. The service was attentive and atmosphere inviting. If I lived in San Diego I would dine regularly at Don Pietro.
