Trejo's Cantina - Hollywood

I guess I had different expectations by the name on the building! I expected amazing tacos, amazing beers & drink. It's a cool atmosphere and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The gold was sub par. The beer was equivalent to a Coors. One time was definitely enough for me. Given LA has a culture of Mexican food everywhere. I'm better off going to a taco truck for tacos. It's still all love. The staff and manager were great!

Disappointed the food wasn't better and more Mex authentic. But It is an interesting menu with many options. Next time we visit we will give it a 2nd chance and try something else on the menu. We got there about 8pm, so just maybe why food wasn't up to par, they closed soon after.
We had their Guacamole (loved it, it had pistachios atop), veggie empanadas (served half cold and contents not very tasty), Barbacoa enchiladas (very dry shredded beef, dry sauce, dry cheese). Customer service was nice.

Okay but not great tacos. I stay at a nearby hotel when I'm in LA and finally came by. The staff was great - though it was only me and 1 other guy in there at 1pm.

The guac was good with chunks of avocado in it. I had one each of the fish, barbacoa, and mushroom taco and they weren't bad but I wouldn't go out of my way for them.

$45 for 3 tacos, guac, and a basic Mexican lager is a bit much too.

Good, strong margaritas (especially the OG). Unfortunately, nothing else stood out for us. Plain interior, tired staff, and happy hour prices were not honored (staff was sorry, but it was ‘preprogrammed’). Will not return.

Tacos weren't anything special. In fact, any taco truck would've been so much better really, and less costly too. The pitcher of OG margaritas was large and delicious. It was heavy on the alcohol but still tasty. I had the Baja fish and carne asada tacos and it wasn't anything special. My bride ate breakfast burrito and loved it (that's rare). The two other participants thought all tacos were above average and worth trying again, but not amazing. The highlight was the guacamole and chips, mainly because of the chips. ***Womp womp*** My thought: find a decent truck for better.

The food and service were amazing.

Trejo should be ashamed serving that food. Steak burrito was so greasy and salty I couldnt eat it. Wife ordered cheese enchiladas that we smothered in greasy sauce. We had to ask for chips and salsa. Not a recommend place. Too bad.

When in Hollywood this is one of our go to places. Food is always fresh and delicious. It's a block down from the stars and across the street from the museum of death. It's a perfect location. We always hope to run into the man himself maybe someday.

Tasty vegan mushroom tacos, cauliflower rice, bean&guac burrito and also delicious vegan horchata sweetened by dates only! And unsweetened iced tea. Nice staff. Recommend to visit on Tacos Tuesday!

The tacos we ordered were some of the worst tacos I’ve ever had. Bland, no flavor, tortillas were cold and fell apart. Wayyyy too expensive for food worse quality than Del Taco. I would give zero stars for the food alone. The chips and salsa were even bad, how do you mess that up? Never going back. Staff was nice, not their fault.

It's a taco joint.with Danny Trejo's name plastered everywhere. Kind of a gimmick, but decent (overpriced) food.

Great draft beer choices and good food.
I recommend the shrimp diabla dish. Good vibes.

Great Place to have mexican food and drinks / cocktails just off Hollywood Boulevard. I recommend the nachos as starter anf then the fried chicken bowl - don't forget to order Guscamole. Parking available.

We love Danny Trejo and were excited to visit his place. The food was super delicious! Wish we lived closer to visit more often.

They have the most friendly and accommodating staff! I called in to make some changes to a DoorDash order and they made the process quick and easy for me. The food has brought me back for years, but the staff truly makes this place special!

Location: Hidden, Parking: Where you can find it, Service: Pretty good. Price for food received: Decent for location. Overall: I went to Trejo's not long after it first opened a few years back. The food was not bad then, and the restaurant was smaller. Now expanded, It still was very simple yet open inside. The host did check on us, refreshed our drinks without asking, and was very courteous. The meal was decent, the pork seemed a bit dry, and I could have used salt and pepper, which are not on the tables. Still, the meal was filling and worth the price. Now, parking is another issue. I did not wish to drop a chunk for Valet in the front. If you are lucky, there are cheap 2hr Parking meters off ivar. I would go back if in the area. So I give this location 3.8 stars.

I made it a point before I flew out of LAX today to visit Trejo's Cantina. It did not disappoint. The only way it could have been better is if Mr. Trejo himself delivered my food, threw it front of me and said "eat it gringo. "

The staff was amazing, my food was dope, and I definitely could have spent more at the gift shop.

Also, shout out to the in house hot sauce. Its not a heavy vinegar base and has a nice heat to it.

The mushroom asada taco has no business being that good. If there's anything you get from this place, I implore you to try that.
