Hector was fantastic, and so was the team who assisted putting the appointment together. He showed up about 10 minutes early, and finished the job with excellence within 15 minutes. 2 new keys to my ‘88 Clubwagon before my tea was cool enough to drink. A HUGE thank you to the technician that assisted me with a new car fob key after the old one abruptly stopped working. Honestly, I thought it was just the battery, but after replacing it, the key continued not to work. The awesome technician explained how it can happen. I was impressed by his knowledge, skill, speed and professionalism.

I feel bad for those that have had not so positive experiences, but my experience was so positive and as long as I live in this area, they’re my go to professionals for any key-related service needs. Thanks again!

Warning! There's guys will invoice you hundreds of dollars even if they don't get the job. Mafia style. **Go to any other
company** and save a headache! Their own tech cancels a job order and the boss charges the customer anyway.

I called out tri county lock to pick and remove two basic barrel locks. The man over the phone explained that it would be $75 to come out and $50 for each half hour of labor. He told me that the tech they would send out would be a professional and be able to get the job done pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, I was unable to be there when the work took place, but I trusted them to do the job completely. My girlfriend supervised the work and was unaware of the complete job that needed to be done.

The locksmith came out and immediately insisted on drilling out the locks. Not ideal, but totally fine. He drills the first lock out in a matter of minutes, very impressive.

However, lock number 2, which was IDENTICAL to the first lock stumped him. He spent approximately 45 minutes attempting to drill that lock out. In the end, he gave up, and tried to show my girlfriend that he couldn’t get the lock off. My girlfriend then attempted to open the machine, and it came right apart. This super experienced technician spent nearly an hour trying to drill out an already compromised lock.

Immediately after my girlfriend got the machine open for him, he handed her a bill for $195 which was more than what we were originally quoted. She paid the invoice, because we had to meet with someone across town.

When I got home to inspect the work, I noticed that they didn’t even remove the locks. They didn’t clean up. Personally, I think the guy was embarrassed by what a bad job he did and wanted to get out of there because there was no reason why that job should have taken so long. You should check out the pictures of what they left me with.

I attempted to reach out to them to rectify it that same day. The guy on the phone was incredibly rude but then assured me someone would come out to fix it the next day.

He then confirmed again with me the next morning that someone would come out.

Later in the day, I discover additional damage caused by the debris left from the job they didn’t finish. I attempt to call tri county back and the guy had a tantrum like meltdown where he kept speaking over me and putting words in my mouth and trying to rush me off the phone. At one point he even made the comment of “Let my guy come out and then you can complain” and just kept repeating himself so I couldn’t talk. Despite him acting like a 4 year old, he says he will personally come out to my house to inspect the work that day. I thank him for doing so.

I wish this story has a happy ending, but unfortunately he ghosted me. He never called me back and never came to inspect the work like he said he would. I’m beyond disappointed with the work they did. I was overcharged, and they didn’t even do the job they were hired to do. You would think for the amount I paid, they would have an ounce of professionalism…

Make this right and I will change my review.

I took two different sets of keys that were mangled and wondered if there was any chance they could be repaired. With a positive, can-do spirit, Tri-County fixed my keys while I waited, making sure I was comfortable during my wait. I left as a very satisfied customer and highly recommend Tri-County to you.

Only locksmith in Santa barbara/ Goleta that actually answers. A little pricey but for the only people OPEN 24 hours a day

Called at 4 AM because I locked my keys inside of my apartment. The man who answered the phone was extremely, extremely rude. He told me that it would be $250 for him to let me in my apartment, when just the door knob lock needed to be opened. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my life. After reading all these reviews, I guess I’m not the first one. Why is your business listed as being open 24 hours, if you are not available for service 24 hours a day? ! I guess he must be able to extort some customers.

The guy was rude and unprofessional. I walked in and he made comments about customers rattling their keys to get his attention (I was taking the key off my key chain to get a copy made). Didn’t greet me. Just awful service. Will never go there again. DO NOT GO THERE!

Terrible service. EXTREMELY misogynistic And condescending. This place should not be in business.

I tried to call this locksmith this morning as I lost my keys to my car. I couldn’t understand what he said when he answered the phone so I said “I’m sorry? ” just to clarify that I was calling the correct service. He was immediately very angry and said “what does it sound like I’m saying” and I told him that it was hard to hear him correctly on the phone. He repeated “I said TriCounty now what do you need” and continued being short and abrupt with me in a very aggressive tone. I spent all morning trying to find a locksmith and I was just trying to assure that I was calling the right place and I don’t think he needed to be so rude. I would not recommend using this locksmith if you’re a woman as he seems like a very aggressive man and I would not trust him.

DON'T GO HERE. EXTREMELY RUDE AND INEXPERIENCED STAFF. GO TO ANOTHER LOCKSMITH- THERE ARE MANY OTHER DECENT ONES IN TOWN.

I asked for an auto key replacement, and the locksmith broke my car door, lost a part to my car door and blamed me for it, and couldn't even make the key.

He Asked me to come back multiple times to get the key made. I finally had enough and got a refund after he whined and pleaded with me to let him keep trying, all while swearing and getting extremely emotional over a key transaction.pathetic.

I had a key break inside my trucks ignition, the locksmith was able to come to my house within an hour and remove the broken key piece.

I'm back on the road, thanks Tri-County locksmith!
