Tsing Tao Restaurant reviews
18My terrible Chinese led me to this restaurant. I was looking for San Tung chicken wing but somehow ended up in Tsing Tao. Wife and baby were hangry so I had to feed them. Server was friendly and sat us down quickly and brought over high chair. We ordered lunch special (sesame chicken and eggplant with pork). Food was good but portion was on the small side. My wife wanted egg roll so I order one without looking at the price. When we got the bill the price of 2 egg roll was over $10, which was unexpected. I left a bit disappointed because I didn’t get the chicken wing (my fault) and end up with an pricy tab for an average Asian restaurant experience in San Francisco.
Great food, fast service, and lots of food make this an excellent “bang for your buck” especially the lunch specials. Highly recommend the spring rolls and chow mein!
The lunch specials are great. My favorite is beef and broccoli over shrimp fried rice. The food comes out fast in less than 5 minutes and it is piping hot and fresh. A definite recommendation
Shrimp with lobster sauce was good. Chicken with cashew was ok. Beef with broccoli was bad: very tough meat. Had to spit out some of it. And this is the second time that their beef is bad. It will probably stop being my go-to place for chinese food delivery.
A lot of real Chinese dishes adapted for the West, plenty of Asian inspired American dishes as well.
Sugar chicken sugar beef available for your sugar protein needs.
Got some food delivered from here later in the evening. What a pleasant surprise, this place was! Sooooo good!
First time here. Got sizzling rice soup, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, combination chow fun, chicken chow mein, kung pao chicken and combination fried rice. Really like the mongo beef bc it had just right amount of heat to it. The soup and rice were a bit lacking in taste. Orange chicken was great! Rest of items were good. Food came out fairly quick and we noticed so many door dash orders being picked up while we were there, but we were practically only dine in customers there. Waitress was very nice and would check to see if we needed anything often. Sorry. I forgot to take pictures before serving our plates and before finishing the soup.
First time visit. Ordered lunch to go. Broccoli Chicken and Ginger, Onion Beef, rice. It was all cooked alright, but flavors were a little too bland
I ordered pot stickers and Kong Pao Chicken for take out. The meat in the pot sticker is not fresh. Kong Pao Chicken is very watery and tasted not like Kong Pao chicken at all. Very disappointed!
I hate it when they put too much cornstarch in their soup like this place does. It's full of gluten and it came back up in my case.
Their food used to be good but now they taste really bad. I think the chef has changed. They also jumped up the price. Too bad, I used love this place.
I've been eating at Tsing Tao for almost 30 years & absolutely LOVE them. They have the best chow mein, fried rice, & green onion pancakes but my absolute favorite thing on the menu is their chili pepper prawns (the reason we tried them oh so many years ago). Being born & raised in the City, I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants & now compare any I might try to Tsing Tao but none come close. I'm grateful I don't live close anymore cuz not only do my daughter & I make a trip about once a month for those delicious shrimp but if ilived close like I used to, I'd be as big as a house cuz of those babies (I could easily eat 2 orders by myself)!
Love this place, always my choice when in this neighborhood. Clean restaurant, not smelly, and bathrooms clean to! The food is great and reasonably priced, cooked with care.
Ordered delivery, live in the Richmond so it took like 20 min. Ordered: large steamed jasmine rice, eggplant in garlic sauce, kung pao tofu (called bean curd on the menu), and honey walnut prawns. Everything was good, only complaint is the eggplant is kind of mushy, but that’s to be expected when using Chinese eggplant (the large skinny light purple ones). Would order again.
Chicken wings not fresh and greasy… soft the prawn fried rice bland, $27.00 way over priced!
Ordered combo fried rice, oyster beef, and Sesame chicken. Served hot and sour soup that had a metallic taste to it. The fried rice was ok but the oyster beef and Sesame chicken were below average. Table was sticky. Will not return.
Tsing Tao restaurant on Clement Street is just wonderful! I’ve never been in the actual restaurant but I’ve been getting their delivery for at least the past two decades.
Everything is really good if you like an old-fashioned Chinese restaurant that is affordable, and if you’re in the Richmond district the delivery is 15 or 20 minutes.
Tonight’s delivery is wonton soup, mu shu pork shrimp dumplings and rice, which arrived in minutes, hot and delicious. They also have a delicious egg foo yung, another of my favorites.
I can’t say enough good things about Tsing Tao, other than to say I’ve never been disappointed!
I think I've been ordering from here about once every two weeks for awhile now. Their food is consistent, always hits the spot, and the portion sizes for the price are excellent.
Is a go-to staple in our house and felt it was time to finally write a well-deserved review. Totally recommend!
