Tugboat Fish & Chips, Fair Oaks CA

I had a chance to eat at Tugboat and by far this is the best fish and chips Ive ever had. I did order their clam chowder as well. It was served hot and creamy, perfectly seasoned and you get a generous serving of the clam pieces and potatoes even though I ordered only a small bowl of it. But I was simply amazed after taking just one bite of the fish and prawns, I couldn't believe how light and crispy, delicious and non greasy they were. To top it all, I ordered my combo with the Hush Poppies as suggested by Nathan. And it was GREAT! I had a great experience eating at Tugboat. Not only you get great food but you will meet the nicest people here. Nathan is super helpful and accommodating
and genuinely kind and warm. I also met his parents who cooked everything to perfection. This restaurant has been standing here for the last 17 years. No doubt this restaurant will never disappoint.

First things 1st. Very nice Mom and Son team, second, perfectly prepared Fish &
Chips, deeelicious batter used on the fish filets, "G. B. D. " (Golden Brown & Delicious), crispy as well, the chips were spot on! Very clean frying oil, I'm very impressed! Polite and well mannered to boot.

Great price, great service, great sauce, and great fish. However, I am knocking off a star for the fries; they were a bit bland. Other than that, I can definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to eat fish n chips!

The fish was fresh, crispy, and flaky. It came out really fast and the service is very nice.

A great little hole in the wall for fresh fried food and a nice little selection of beer. They don’t cheap out on the fries or their batter, and the guy recommended the larger shrimp dish to me that was a better value. So excellent customer service, definitely would recommend, it is a little pricey but absolutely worth it

This is the original! Been in business over 35 years. The current ownership takes great pride in the quality of their fish and every time the food is fresh and hot.

Got fish and clams. Got 2 pieces of fish the size of silver dollars and gushed grease beyond edible. Clams were cremated. And charged me for extra tarter sauce and cocktail sauce. About 2 tablespoons each. Never eat there again.

This place is great. The cod fish is sooo fresh and battered crispy. They lightly battered the cod fish making it crunchy when biting into it. Not so greasy in eating. This is my second time coming here in the neighborhood, and the fish and chips tasted awesome. It beats other places than most putting to much batter in the fish. Even the onion rings are great. This place even have lumpias (egg rolls) that were also good. My sister in law and I enjoyed getting our lunch here and bringing it to my sister in law’s Mom. If you happen to be in Fair Oaks, and crave for fish and chips, try this place. Thank you.

Always great fish. First visit to this location. Will be back. Appreciated cashier wearing face shield but cook was unmasked.

I came here on a Tuesday to try the fish tacos. It's a small place. I walked in and was greeted right away. As I looked over the menu. I decided to try nates fish tacos. They sounded so good.

The tacos come in flour tortillas.not corn. That was different. I do prefer corn over flour for sure.but they were still good. They are packed with fish pieces that were fried. Not one whole piece. It also comes with slaw and a spicy sauce on top. There are French fries under the tacos and a lemon wedge. You can get two tacos for 6.49 and 3 tacos for 8.49.this is only on Tuesday.

They also sell many other items such as clam chowder.lumpia.fish and clams.prawns.oysters and chicken among others.

Their tartar sauce is so good. If your looking for some really good fish tacos or fried food.give this place a try.
