I highly recommend this place 100%. The staff here is extremely accommodating, friendly and they give you a a sense of peace when you drop your car off there. They were able to fix an extremely tedious problem on my vehicle, and the cost was in my budget. Finding good honest mechanics is rare these days so if you have any problems with your vehicle, I suggest going here first.

I have taken a couple vehicle to this shop and They always do a great job and are able to do just about anything. We took my moms 2008 rav 4 to them and they fixed the axel at fair price and car still runs great. Second the worked on my GF 2018 rav 4 that had a water pump leak, they fixed and replaced everything for a reasonable price and cars runs great. Last car I took in was my 2011 Nissan Frontier and again they did not disappoint got my truck back up and running in reasonable time. I really have to say this is the best shop is southbay/imperial beach. They are always straight forward great service.

Very efficient and straight forward service. Fermin was very knowledgeable and explained the diagnostic process they would use to find my problem on a 2000 Grand Cherokee, which was intermittent over the last six months. They located the problem, which two other businesses failed to find, and corrected it. I plan to use this business in the future, and highly recommend them. Thank you to Fermin and the crew!

Awesome customer service! Super helpful. Even had the Netflix set up in the waiting room and made sure I was comfortabl. They were quick and efficient even on a Friday at 3pm. Fair prices and thurough work. Will definitely come back!

Fair shop that doesn't try to upsell you services you don't need. I was sure I needed my breaks replaced because I was long overdue and was hearing some noises I assumed were related. The guy told me the pads were still good and I nose was likely rust related since my vehicle sat unused for an extended amount of time.

Walked in after stopping at Aguilar’s for my vehicle’s registration and title transfer. Fermin took my truck in and had the smog done faster than I could finish reading Ephesians. Thanks to these guys, my truck’s good to go for our next few outreaches we’ll be doing in San Quentin this weekend.

Great staff and very helpful! But at times it seems like they are so nonchalant about certain jobs, took my truck to find a problem and it was there for 8hrs+ and when I called they said that my car has been ready and didn’t have a problem with them so they couldn’t find what was wrong. I thought a mechanic does an all around inspection before just giving up, I paid about $100 just for them to not find the problem. I always think of them as my neighborhood mechanics but they can’t even change a battery for me or do small jobs by the sounds of it, everytime I ask there’s a “but”. Great place if you need Air conditioning only though!

I was referred to this place by a friend of mine and tried it to get more detail why my fuel pump kick on intermittently. As I showed up to the shop Jason Huff ask me what part I change so far and the issue why I couldn’t start the car. He assured me from first day and the day I pick up the car running again. Even though that were pacing Coved-19, they are still working to get other people car back and running to be use for groceries and for emergencies if they have to go to ER. Anyways Jason Huff updated me daily with the progress of their troubleshooting why my car wouldn’t start. They have traced it to the ECU is the problem and gave me a copy of the ECU diagram and explained it to me why. They recommend the ECU to be replaced even they got it to start just for me to take it back home instead of calling a tow truck. Thank you Jason and to your team for a thorough and well explained of the diagnostic doing everything right on first place with no rework. The price was a reasonable and definitely recommend this place and I will come back again for my other cars.

After a number of mechanics, including Pep Boys and other 'big' shops, couldn't figure out my issue, Tunes Lubes & Smog put in real effort to get my van up and running again. I can't recommend this shop enough, especially if your regular mechanic can't seem to figure out what's wrong with your car. Best of all, they didn't keep throwing costly tests at me - they just did them without upselling me whenever they hit a wall. Pretty sure this shop just became my go-to mechanic, but, with the expertise they're putting into their work, I'll be needing a mechanic a lot less often.
