I have been a frequent flyer to this hospital, and everytime I go I have always been treated in a kind and professional manner. Sometimes the ER is empty and sometimes it is packed. Even when it is packed, they seem to triage and treat patients in a timely manner.

I’ve been trying to call the hospital on several different phone lines, each time I can barely hear the hospital side because there is so much static. I’ve double checked all my phones and they seem fine. I can’t even get in contact with the IT department because I can’t hear the phone at all. Please look into this ASAP. I’ve called corporate and they are ZERO help, they just gave me the hospitals number….

DO NOT GET ANY THING DONE HERE WITHOUT AN ESTIMATE OF COST FOR EVERYTHING THEY DO BEFORE YOU PROCEED. If it's a true emergency, go to French and then get airlifted to a real hospital like Stanford. I was knocked out briefly after being hit in the head while working cattle, so I went to the ER to make sure everything was ok. I didn't have to wait long, got my vitals taken by the triage nurse and then got a brief exam by the doctor. He recommended a CAT scan because the blow to my head had been over my temple. It was a basic scan with no contrast, took about 10 minutes and I had to wait about 20 for the radiologist to read it and say it was normal. I was there 1.5 hrs.
I have good insurance, but received a bill for nearly $12,000 from the hospital. The doctor and the radiologist billed separately. My insurance took care of most, however the bulk of my bill was for the CAT scan. They charged nearly $8000 for it, when the two radiology centers a few blocks away charge $250 and $320 cash for the exact same CPT coded scan. I did not receive an estimate nor was I told any cost information at the time. I don't have any co-pay, just my deductible so I was not given a bill at the end of my visit.
The billing department is horrible and inept. I think they are outsourced, as you can not speak to any one with authority and they can't answer basic questions about charges. They are also rude and hung up on me while I was trying to get a basic question answered about why they charged me nearly $8k for a CAT scan that is only $320 if I walk across the street to Templeton imaging (which is also owned by tenet health.) When talking to my insurance, I found out that the charges at the hospital are based on a percentage of your deductible, CO-pay amount, etc. They are not billed as a set price, same to everyone. The price changes. No other business could charge different rates for the same product to different people. That would be considered discrimination and unfair business practices and you would be sued. It should be a set cost for the procedure and what your portion you are responsible for depends on what is left after your insurance paid. They are charging an upcharge of 55% of my deductible on the CAT scan above the negotiated price from insurance. This means that if I go online and estimate the cost to go have the scan repeated, it now costs me less. I looked on the hospitals price estimator when I was trying to see what the heck was going on with my bill. So the next time they will only charge me $1400 instead of $4000 over the insurance price. That is asinine.
When I was hung up on and could not get any answers from the outsourced billing dept, I called the hospital and tried to talk to an administrator there. I was forwarded to the patient experiences officer, as that's who the operator was instructed to forward complaints to. There was no person, but I left a message with my name and phone number. I never received a call back. Thus, I'm giving this review to hopefully inform others about those woeful and deceitful practices.
The doctor and nurse I saw were nice, but aside from my quick exam, they didn't even clean my abrasions or wound, give me a band aid for my cut or anything. I literally still had dirt on my face when I got home and I cleaned and dressed my own injury.

Next time I have a heart problem-I think I’d prefer death.

This place is a scam-support is a joke and management is money hungry. Will encourage everyone I know never to use them.

5 Stars for my son´s medical treatment after his accident. The waiting time in the ER was very short and the doctors examination was very good and explained everything afterwards. The doctor had also a lot of time for our questions.

-1 Star for the long waiting time and difficult communication until I get the requested invoice for our health insurance.

The Twin Cities Hospital Emergency Room care was excellent. Two times in a row. My 87-year-old father went in two times in the period of 3 weeks and received excellent treatment. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient.

I have been well treated at Twin for years, six surgeries, less than 10 ER visits, and was always treated with respect and had great medical and nursing care. At age 80, I had my first orthopedic injury on May 18th. I had excellent medical and nursing care in the emergency room on the day of injury. The triage nurse anticipated that I would need an x-ray and sent me there before I was seen by the doctor. X-ray tech was excellent. When I went home I was given a follow-up appointment for 4 days after the injury. Little did I know they have an orthopedic clinic and follow you up there. I've been seen six times, including an x-ray, since the original injury. Each time the nurses and doctors have been so caring and professional. Hopefully my next orthopedic clinic will be my discharge appointment. I am so pleased with my follow up care at Twin Cities.

Lying, deceitful, greedy company that sums in Twin Cities Hospital ran by Tenant Health. How this hospital is not shut down yet by the state is beyond me. The treatment they gave me was minimal over a few visits back to back. The only reason I went here is because I was referred over by my primary doctor. They lied to my face and are charging me literally 5x what they originally quoted me. I have fought the charges now with insurance but they go off of what doctor say who are just as bad. I now have this escalated to the state level. Do NOT go to this hospital, go anywhere but here. You have been warned!

Both my husband and I went to the emergency room after being sick for a few days. We think maybe we have COVID. Each of us were seen by different ER doctors, in separate rooms, both having the same symptoms but each given different diagnoses. They treated me with an IV giving me Tylenol and Motrin and some nausea medicine and a chest exray. We were sent home. We're still sick with no answer of what's wrong with us but it's not COVID. This is truly a bad hospital.
I forgot to mention THEY ALLOW DOGS IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM WITH THE PATIENTS. No not my dog some other patient.

The worst experience, No communication with patients. The staff was unprofessional and seemed bothered due to you being a patient.

If you need medical attention DO NOT GO!

The only way I can explain the treatment I got at twin cities is pure malevolence. I have lived in the county for 43 years and I've heard many horror stories about this hospital. I only went there because it was so close to my house. My cancer is terminal my spine is broken I've been through about 20 hours of surgery on my neck and spine and even though I waited for many hours in pain when I finally saw a doctor he didn't even offer me an aspirin. If that's the kind of medical care you want go for it

They are very cruel and rude human beings who are just there to get their paychecks. The hospital will rob you of your money. And the place is highly unsanitary. Avoid a woman with blonde wavy hair and glasses that goes by the name Leanne Buckner.

I went to this hospital and the nurses were fabulous however I was released being told all of my tests were negative Howe when I got my test results back I had several abnormal conditions that showed in my blood work including a UTI, I was sent home with no antibiotics still feeling horrible I took a home uti test and it was possible they told me I would have to come back to the hospital wait and get re evaluated spend more money for a test they already have!

Horrible corrupt hospital ran by Tenet Health. I am still fighting with them on 3 separate charges from the wound care clinic. The first time I checked in the receptionist explained to me I would only be responsible for my copay of $85. I was going once per week then 4 weeks later I was shocked when I saw separate bills for $410, $625, $530. They are fraudulent charges, the hospital exaggerated services done and used high ticketed words that they can charge more for like "operating table" and surgery. How is it surgery when the doctor literally sees me for under 5 minutes and uses a scalpel to scrap the inside of my foot for under 1 minute? Seriously I video taped it as evidence so now I filed 3 claims with my insurance and I have proof the hospital is making up things that never happened to get more money from my insurance and from me. That is literally the definition of FRAUD. How is this hospital not shut down or sued yet?

Some staff are great others simply are there to get paid. Understaffed for sure. If you want to die come to this hospital. Literally everyone north county knows this. They have you WAITING FOR HOURS at ER. WE NEED ANOTHER HOSPITAL North County, SLO county has so much money yet they haven’t bother to consider enticing another entity (NOT for profit like Tenet Health) to build a hospital. I mean who are we voting for, careless people. Two hour limit to make decent profit then kick you out so they can hold someone there make some money. WORST EXPERIENCE. I’ve seen nurses come and go. I’m assuming they are overworked. Some doctors seem not to take the extra step to do some studies to check up on you. The whole purpose of taking an oath is TO DO NO Harm. Send you home and hope you get to see the light the next day. LIKE I SAID IF YOU WANT TO DIE COME HERE! Idk how these people go to sleep. It saddens me the lack of empathy for ill patients. So yeah, worst hospital north county. And that’s how it works when you got only one to go to.

The medical and support staff were ABSOLUTELY totally professional, very caring and helpful beyond expectations. The culinary department however needs to be blown-up and started over. I had 12 meals, and ONLY the pork tenderloin was palletable. Could not eat even a 1/4 of the meal, way too dry, sides were too runny, and no taste at all, inconsistent at best.
