TZone Monterey

Stopped for an earl grey tea, very good and flavorful drink. The place is clean and people are nice and friendly.

Didn't have Boba ready when we got there so they gave us the option to wait for fresh Boba to cool down! The customer service was great. The tea was good, the Boba was not as sweet as I like but it was still good. Just wish they had more flavors.

While we were walking in Monterey last June (2023), we came across Tzone primarily because we say passion fruit plant that was growing in a pot. We love passion fruit so obviously went inside the store not sure what really to expect in terms of the drinks or food.

We first admired the passion fruit plant and then went towards the register to see what they were offering. It is mainly a drink place with various flavors of teas (bubble, Thai, flavored). It was quite a selection and sounded all good but my wife wanted to make sure it was not too sweet but also get something other than standard. That's where Eli comes in. He was so friendly and helpful.he took time to explain how TZone was different and better. He explained each of the choices and what goes into each of the drinks (type of tea, sweetener, fruit or other flavors, etc). He helped my wife select the right drink based on her likings and he even agreed to make it less sweet. My wife loved the tea as it was not very sweet

Overall place is big and quite airy and well lit. Very clean and plenty of space to sit and relax.

It’s a shame I have to write this review, but an unfortunate experience in my food was documented recently. I found a fruit fly half way through enjoying my drink, and it could’ve been ingested or perhaps I’ve already ingested one. This is my first time experiencing this, and I hope no one experiences this either as they have some really good drinks in this place. It's possible this could be just a one time thing, but I’d be weary next time ordering boba drinks. I’d suggest ensuring good measures in food safety.

Whenever I come to Monterey I always love to come here! Their drinks are amazing! I recommend the pina colada and the PMS!

Great boba teas but please read the ingredients as it contains red 40,3 and yellow 5. Service depends on the mood of staff as they can be very rude. I used to buy boba in there and depending on who is serving it’s a rip off as they add less of the ingredients and everyday is different. I usually tip 30% but staff is still very rude with the exception of a few. The other day I walked in, it was 8: 30 pm and they close at 9: 00pm one of the employees was mopping the floors. I politely apologized and asked if I was bothering him and he literally said yes you are bothering me. The customer next to me could not believe his rudeness and told him they close at 9: 00 pm and that he should not talk to people like that. There was this other customer who bought 4 boba teas and the stuff did not warn him to hold the bottom of the carrier case. The customer ended up dropping all four bobas and when he went back into the store, and the employee rudely told him it was too bad and that he had to wait 20 minutes if he wanted him to remake it. It was not even busy and I saw the look of disappointment on the customers face. He said he will post a review on yelp. Everyday I get 10 servings of boba and everyday the level of the cup is different depending on the mood of the staff. I can tell some of them are very racist and don’t like Hispanic looking people. There is one particular guy there with blond curly hair and green eyes who is very racist and always very rude refusing to even respond when I say thank you. I wish they could figure out a way of not ripping the customers off. This employee was very rude to me as if he will get rich by ripping me off on behalf of the owner. The other day a girl in a bad mood tried to charge me 14 dollars for boba tea and finally changed the price when I confronted her. I have finally found a way to get boba online and make my tea home. Many foods have dyes in it. But I would not recommend Tzone because of the rudeness of the employees. My friends who had the same experiences will be posting their reviews as well.

Tea shops are hard to find in Monterey so we decided to give this place a shot despite it not having an authentic Taiwanese appearance.

The classic milk tea had a rich and dark flavor which is different but surprisingly delicious! We ordered 25% sugar which was perfect. The boba was old though and tasted stale.

The Secret Garden was way too sweet even though we ordered it with 0% sugar. I would suggest revising the recipes (proportions of fruit syrups) and using a stronger green tea. However, I liked the fresh fruit bits which added nice texture!

My biggest complaint is the paper straws. While I appreciate the initiative to be more eco-friendly, the straws soon became mushy which made enjoying my drink difficult.

The only boba place that serves earl grey tea. I wish I had discovered it sooner into our trip.

Jack took care of my order and gave the best customer service. I will be coming back. If you haven't been to Tzone you are missing out.

Walked into an empty store. Two teenage girls acted as such with monotone greeting and lazy eyes. They turned to make our drinks with frowns on their face.
Ordered to-go and left with them saying a sarcastic “thanks, have a good day. ”

The tea was as good as their attitude.
Dried fruit had gone bad and both drinks were thrown away after a few sips.
I got the Fantasy Garden.

The other drink (taro milk tea) was just plain milk and little flavor.

Normally they’re okay but today’s service sucked. My friend and I went and ordered two drinks. About 5-6 people ordered after us and got theirs before us. The cashier saw me not tip and “forgot” to make our drinks. My friend and I sat there for almost 15 minutes and when the girl was asked if she made our drinks, she looked at me and said no. So don’t tip if you don’t want your drinks made in the order they were actually ordered. At least the drinks taste good.

This place literally has the worst boba.typically it’s either hard, not fresh, or they’re simply out.the only thing worth getting here is the piña colada to be honest with you, and yet they run out of ingredients.save yourself time from going to this place if you want good boba.

Food poisoning: Went here this past week, ordered a tiger milk tea. Seemed fine at first, and after I had about 1/3 of it, I noticed small white dots forming throughout the drink. Basically, there was bad milk, and it was mixed in well enough to where I couldn’t tell at first. By the time I noticed, it was too late, and I got food poisoning.

Come here pretty regularly because in the area there are no many boba choices. Forgot to take photos. I got my preferred drink-jasmine milk tea half sweet with boba and Crystal boba. They were super generous with the toppings. There is only one drink size. Pricey is similar to most places. $6-8 depending on how many toppings. They weren’t busy in a Friday evening after dinner. Drinks were ready super fast.
