UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge

Had a great time here. The only downside is they don’t have a full restaurant on-site. Only reasonable dining option is their buffet which has fixed hours of operation

If you like swimming, diving, pickleball, soccer, hiking, tennis, and volleyball, then this place has it all for you. Awesome place for those who want to stay active. So many sporty amenities here. It is flushed with flowers and green landscape in August. Cabins are like tiny homes (excluding kitchens and personal washer and dryer). Our cabin was 2 stories with a running stream behind the balcony. Highly recommend this place

The location and the main building are incredible.the food is appalling.the service is miserable but the servers are nice.and they have NO WINE. I was looking forward to a nice bottle of red wine with my Beef Wellington but no wine! I was told by our server that they were waiting for their licence and then by the front desk who told me that this is a campus and that they don't serve alcohol but I could bring my own. I pointed out to her that I had stayed many times at the UCLA Luskin and that they had a bar and served alcohol.the Beef Wellington was very sad! Very well done meat and wet/soft pastry.not my idea of a Beef Wellington! It's not on par with the Luskin.

One of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. The rooms are large and very rustic. They have lots of nice amenities here that you always have something to do. Excellent staff and great food.

I can't say enough good things about this place! The location is unbelievably clean, even the outside of the condos is clean. The meeting rooms were great, minus the challenging to access power for laptops. The outdoors sports, big open field, swimming pool, and fireplaces were so nice and well taken care of. The food was interesting though rather bland. The rooms were so nice, well stocked, and comfortable. Definitely recommended! In summer, only UC people and large groups can go, but otherwise it is open to the public.

During the summer months they are exclusively used by UCLA for their family friendly camp adventures but it is open in the off season for guests. Beautiful views grassy areas and cabin style buildings. Tranquil and hospitable.

I stayed at the Lake Arrowhead Lodge as part of a writing retreat. It was my first time there and I absolutely loved it. The staff, location, food, and amenities were unbeatable. It was an amazing experience!

I stayed at UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge for 3 days. My company held a retreat at the complex, and I was very impressed with the facilities, the staff, the food and the surroundings. Beautiful location and an excellent experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!

This place offers serenity, nature, and cozy mountain comfort like no other. The food was also amazing.

Have a Family house in Arrowhead and visit once or twice a year from the East Coast. I wanted to check out this property for future stays to then have more space and work areas for my visits. Arrived to the front desk to a semi empty lobby area and explained my needs and one of three ladies at the desk stated they were “fully committed” and had no rooms to show. She handed me a pamphlet with a QR-code and stated I could view rooms “on line”. 
I stated that I could come back later today or even tomorrow and she said nope- we are fully committed. 
That being said- I reluctantly left (waste of a visit) and walked away. About 5 minutes later while walking near the Lake I went on-line to plenty of rooms and suites available today- and next day as well. As I hate being lied to- I turned around and went back to the hotel grounds and into the empty lobby with 2 of the 3 Ladies still there. I stated to the lady that I had previously dealt with that I found plenty of availability on-line for today and tomorrow and that I believed she was lying to me. 
I stated that I wanted to speak instead with a hotel Manager. Her colleague then started to tell me they did in fact have availability today- but the rooms were still occupied or dirty- and that they had no rooms to show now. I then reminded her that I had already stated that I could have come back later today or tomorrow and that they were very dishonest. I stated again that I needed to speak to a manager and that I’d be seated across the lobby waiting. Lo and behold- she then came over to me a few minutes later with a room available to show immediately! I then started to tell her this was so dishonest and I didn’t appreciate it and she said “do you want to see a room or no? ” 
She then went on to say the truth is they are short -staffed and don’t like to show rooms. I then replied I’d rather have been given that answer previously then the original lies.
What else is this Hotel Staff dishonest about? 
The room was drab- and musty; likely why they don’t like to show them before you book.
I’ll just stay at the resort down the street which I was trying to avoid for future stays, but after my horrible interactions with the staff here- coupled with underwhelming rooms, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
I am NOT a UCLA Alum- rather a proud Boston College one, and these staff members could use an ethics class at BC!

Arriving late on a foggy night to a quiet foyer has a real Halloween / Shining feel - which is immediately punctured by the sunny disposition of the night staff. This is a unique place - every lodge with a log fire and a commanding place in overlooking a 50 acre lake side park. With the premium.

Thank you for saving our family in so many ways. This once in a lifetime blizzard of 2023 is definitely one for the books. Our hearts goes out to everyone who have lost during this disaster.
Thank you for keeping my family safe at your lodge. Thank you for the hospitality and treating us as family while we were “trapped” by the blizzard. We didn’t feel trapped because you all took such great care of us and we were blessed not to be lacking of anything during that time.
Our 2 night stay ended up being a 9 day stay and could have been longer if it were not for the kindness and generosity of the general manager who gave us a ride not only down the mountain but all the way home. Our car suffered a catastrophic failure during the blizzard and we literally had no way home. Called every repair shop and AAA. Everyone was stuck and there was no one able to help. Seeing and reading about the aftermath I understand how lucky and blessed we were to have the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge and all the staff there. They kept us safe, very comfortable and fed us well.
Thank you Charlie for providing all those arts & crafts for my little girl. All those board games made the time a blast. Thank you John for making those amazing meals. You always seem to read my little girls mind when it comes to what she loves to eat! Thank you Darren for tirelessly shoveling snow so we can have a safe path to and from our lodge. Last but not least, thank you so much Dylan for your generosity and kindness for taking us all the way home.

The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge is an amazingly beautiful retreat. We wish we could have done more exploring and we are sure to return and return and return. What makes the place even more amazing and a must visit destination are the people. You will not find a friendlier, kind, generous and happy staff than at UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. Book this place while you can. This place will not be a hidden gem for long.
