UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - Oakland Emergency Room

I took my son last week for a procedure he has been screaming and crying the whole time after after his procedure he is only two years old instead of getting better he got worse please please make sure not to take any children there.

TERRIBLE. Do not take your child here! After having a fever for 36 hours, and it peaking at 105 WITH MEDS. I took my son here immediately. I waited for 4 hours to be seen. VERY RUDE STAFF. Our nurse acted like I was stupid for bringing him, after my doctor, and the advice nurse told us to take him there. She didn’t respond when I pressed the call button. I ran out of diapers since we’d spent so long waiting. I asked if she could help me because my husband wasn’t allowed to come into the room (or hospital). She told me I needed to wait, as if I hadn’t waited 30 minutes after pressing the call button she never responded to. She rudely brought two diapers in like I was a giant inconvenience for interrupting her paperwork with her feet up. I also heard her be incredibly rude to the other family’s in our area asking about the timing. I am so furious. This is not somewhere to go for help. People don’t care and their apathetic attitude is DANGEROUS TO THE PATIENTS! I’d give zero stars if I could. I will NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE.

1 star just like the rest of Oakland. Everyone encountered has been miserable and under qualified. We were delivered by ambulance and still haven’t received care for our toddler 7 hours later. They split up us parents due to Covid. My pregnant wife has been spoken down to multiple times. I can’t be there to support her. My son hasn't received help. This place is hell.

I don't know what happened to this hospital after covid hit. It went from welcoming and friendly to being avoided and not willing to help. My wife had to go there this morning at 1am with our 3yrs daughter who had a very high fever that cause blood running down her nose. They had to wait 3hrs in the waiting room when they were the only ones there when one nurse walk by and ask " are you waiting to see a doctor? " " let me get one for you " (again). They took them to the room, and we thought should be faster now? Right? In there it was just the same nurse taking care of our daughter. They waited another 2.5hrs the doctor never came. I told them you know what just come home, there is no point at all in waiting there. I will take care my daughter myself.

I do not recommen this children's hospital to anyone.

Worst service ever! I always bring my younger brothers here when they need to visit the emergency room and they always take 6 to 9 hours from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Ridiculous! The nurses don’t seem to have any empathy towards their patients. Most of the times I’ve been here there hasn’t been a physical doctor, it’s always the physician assistant/physician associate. I understand when they get busy and have a lot of testing/labs to do, but it’s a hospital and they should have multiple people hired to do the job. Sorry, but I would not recommend this location at all. Trust me, if I could give zero stars I would.

Don't bring your child here. I checked in at 11: 30 or something and 3: 00 there is no doctor. Even tho i was the first in the waiting room. Staffs just mind their own business, talking and taking lunch. My child stomach ache got better and start running around and still no one called. They didn't care, didn't bother to check up on how my son is feeling, one time when i tried to ask the staff something he just pretended that he didn't hear me. I left and will never ever return here.

I have brought my child here twice and both times I’ve spent around 6hours at this hospital. They don’t check there patients.

The Doctors are so nice to me and the other children the doctors treat me like I am one of their children

We had to go to this hospital for my kids surgery. Nurse and doctor staff are mostly friendly and knows how to work with kids. Food for kids is pretty decent. Parking lot for the hospital is $16 for overnight and $8 up to 6hrs.

I went to emergency room, the nurse that was assigned to my case was unprofessional and rude. He doesn't care if your child is in pain. Can't cooperate, can't acknowledge the parents concern, can't listen at all. Quick to judge, discriminated Asian parents. He purposely gave us quick check up room even though there was multiple available rooms. It wasn't cleaned at all and i told him but he doesn't care he just told me there is no room available. It was so evident that he didn't want to be our nurse, and he was bothered to even check up my son. I'm so angry the way he treated us.

They gave risperdal which makes me develope female breast this is by far the worst hospital ever.
