This is first time i am dealing with IRA Trust, after lot research I found Udirectira, I am really happy working with Mark. G. He really helped me going extra mile processed all work. Good part of is Mark. G is available to help when ever I need help.

I established a SDIRA with uDirect around a year ago. This was my first venture outside of a company 401K and individual IRA account. I now have properties and private stock in my portfolio and have completed several transactions with uDirect. They have always been easy to reach on the phone for help with the transaction process and answer emails promptly. There are guardrails in place to ensure we stay within the IRS guidelines, which is good. They are very good about sending detailed instructions to you when requested to make the process easy. They have also completed all of my transactions quicker than the published time. I am glad I chose uDirect as my SDIRA custodian.

UDirect is an excellent organization, which actively encourages you to take control of your financial future. The staff, from Derexa, David, and others, are extremely knowledgable and helpful with any questions you may have. I'm extremely happy with uDirect, and will continue to interact with them for the foreseeable future.

That way you can fully understand the unprofessional tactics and bogus fees that will likely cost you a lot more money than you can ever imagine.

I had the unique misfortune of starting an IRA with UDirect after reading several reviews that I now believe were untrue.

When I fulfilled all the paperwork I was given my first surprise.

In certain states, UDirect will not manage the real estate assets you currently have within your Self-Directed IRA.

The front page of UDirect's main site does not provide any details about whether they will manage your account if there are real estate assets within it. Zero. Based on my experiences, you will also not be warned about this when opening your account.

Apparently this is now an issue for UDirect in several states and counties which may be attributable to customer service (read the other reviews here). For whatever reason, they may no longer be able to provide this service to you.

I was told about this only after establishing my account. It took several weeks to undo the transactions and revert our assets to our original provider (Forge Trust), and we were charged ridiculously high fees by uDirect which totaled over $450.

In over 30 years as a self-guided investor, I have never experienced anything like this from any organization. Schwab, E*Trade, Vanguard, Fidelity, all provide full disclosure up front. Never a single issue.uDirect did not disclose this issue until after they already had our money.

What's worse is that after I was told that they would refund at least one of my fees, I got stiffed. Jon and Leslie ignored my voicemails and it has now been several weeks. I guess when you engage in deception and legalized theft, you do what you can to avoid your former customers.

Any company that chooses to use tricks and deception should never be in control of your assets. Be very careful. Shop around. Read the reviews here and sort them by lowest on up. You'll find out the truth.

UPDATE: Two weeks after the offer of a partial refund I still have not received any of those funds. Anyone looking at putting their money with this organization should look at the lowest reviews first. The level of complaints and promises broken seems to be a recurrent theme for how they operate. At this point I am leaving this review up until I am refunded in full.

This was my first purchase of a rental property through my IRA. Mark G.was incredibly responsive and helpful as I navigated the rules for IRA purchases of real estate. We closed in under 30 days. I look forward to doing it again!
