Ulta Beauty, San Luis Obispo CA

I don’t think that this store even has a REAL manager. Every-time I come in I always hear one of the “managers” yelling at employees how they can improve
Of getting credit card sign ups and why there isn’t any. I used to not go to Sephora due to the toxicity of the staff and service now it’s this ulta in particular. Not only that it seems like this store hasn’t been organized in awhile or at all.

I prefer coming here, and since a lot of sephora brands are starting to come to Ulta I just prefer to shop here. Fenty beauty and Dior are just some of the higher end brands merging with Ulta plus it’s also nice to have access to all of the drugstore brands as well.

Don't get their credit card their custumer service is the worst, they hired people that don't have patience or even care about what you have to say.

Got my hair colored, washed, and styled by a real professional. Very friendly, and helpful. Color is exactly what I wanted. Stylist listens to her clients. The holiday music was cheery. Hopefully they won't play it constantly though. I love Christmas but it's nice to hear other music too. Right.

Very helpful staff at this location, I was browsing the foundation section, not knowing what I should pick and a very helpful employee, Mandy, asked if she could help me. I said yes and asked for help finding a medium coverage foundation and she showed me a foundation that ticked all the boxes on what I was searching for and even shade matched me. She also showed me a loose powder to set my foundation that blurs pores so nicely! She was very kind and helpful. The cashier Aimee was also very polite.

This is my second time getting a hair color service at Ulta San Luis Obispo with stylist Yesha P. She does an excellent job, is so precise and attentive both advising on color as well as her technique applying the color. Her hair styling and blow out are also excellent. I am fortunate to have found her. I highly recommend her for your hair needs!

As soon as I walked in I went to the area I was looking for and not even 2 minutes I was asked if I needed help, which was nice so I didn't have to try and find someone. I ended up getting help by the manager Stevie, he was outstanding. He helped me and suggested items, he tried them on me and helped me with a question that I have had for a couple years. I was/am so happy with the items and suggestions he gave me. I will definitely be asking for him the next time for everything. He made the reason that I would go back and buy more. The store was very clean but always is and people were getting help by the clerks on the floor, no one seemed to have to look for them, they came to you but didn't bother you. Even though I can buy my regular items somewhere else for less and more specials I enjoyed going there and I got all my needs met and my problems solved. Try them.

I have a wild mane & GINA S.is the only person I trust to tame it! 5 stars across the board, she works very hard for her skills & strives to keep her clients happy. I recommend her to anyone that wants to keep their hair fresh & stylish. Keep up the hard work Gina!

You can't go wrong at Ulta SLO! The amazing people there are always willing to help: Aaron, Sam D, Mandie, Stevie, and Ember to name a few and there's so many more who have helped me along with learning new tips, tricks and prouducts. Also their amazing stylists Gina, Yesha, & Lilly! They've got the most amazing attitudes and customer service is top notch there. You always feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door whether you're a newbie at makeup or a pro they're always willing to help. Shout out to the store manager Lysa you've got an amazing team! If you want some friendly faces and want to leave feeling beautiful about your self go see the folks at Ulta SLO where they really make you belive the possibilities are beautiful!

Got my hair cut/dyed by Yesha and she gave me exactly what I was looking for. I’ve always had okay salon experiences but she listened to exactly what I was looking for and was super sweet! Thank you Yesha!

Gina was so great and did my hair such a fun and vibrant pink! She did great, detailed work and I had a wonderful experience the entire time. This is my second time here at this Ulta getting my hair done by her and I’ve been happy both times! Perfect for a college student’s budget as well and I will definitely be going to back for more fun hair colors and cuts!

I made a wedding/bridal "Wash/Blowdry/Style-Curl" hair appointment with the Salon 2 weeks prior to the wedding date. My appointment was set for 12pm with GINA. At 11: 08AM the morning of the Wedding, she texted me/blowing up my phone, introducing herself and requested example photos & said to come having "clean/dried hair". This was less than an hour before my appointment time, which was quite stressful the morning of one's wedding. Let alone, I specifically requested a wash/blowdry/style, weeks prior. It should have been made clear days prior (Not an hour before). When I arrived early in fact, Gina was still working on another client's hair. By the time she finally saw me, it was almost 20 MINUTES LATE. She even had to have the front desk associate help assist with setting up her station with various products she needed. Although she was pleasant, she seemed flustered, rushed and definitely un-prepared, even dropping items on the floor multiple times.
After washing, drying and applying plenty of volume/hold product.she claimed my hair was not holding/keeping it's curl. Almost 2 hours later I had to get going back to the hotel to finish getting ready and she also had another client waiting. $80 later my hair was shiny but flat and not very curly at all. I was upset and disappointed and it really stressed me out that day. Gina at least put my rhinestone hair clip securely in however, I regret getting my hair done by this location/stylist.: (

Gina K.did an amazing job on my eye brows! She is by far the best esthetician, she makes sure to map out exactly prior to starting which allows to you see how the end result will turn out. She is detailed, personable, compassionate and most of all very professional. The best brow waxing in town!

The people at Ulta are really sweet and they do a great job of helping if you need it. The store is very clean. I remember when it first opened, there was a terrible chemical smell but thankfully that's been long gone.

Mandy is a bad look on that store and does not handle situations professionally. Unfortunate.

Gina S.is my go-to stylist. At Ulta Beauty I look forward to coming to SLO to get my hair done. Thank you Gina for the excellent cut and color. I really appreciate your expertise and this location works perfectly for me now that you are there!

I just stopped in with my grandma and the computers at the front were not able to correctly pull up her account information. My grandma went into Karen mode, she wasn't listening or even trying to understand, she was just getting unreasonably upset. I'm giving a 5 star rating because the staff handled this very well. They offered helpful solutions and thoughtful explanations while staying calm.

Earlier in our shopping experience they were able to help us find specific products that we only had vague descriptions of, like "a big silver bottle of shampoo". They also helped us compare alternative products as necessary.
