Ultimate Fitness, Chula Vista CA

It's what you need out of a gym. Not over-crowded with people and has equipment you need for a solid workout. Chalk friendly. Respectable open times. However, plates are broken, different style (Same weight but has different shape/size to them. Annoying to try to get multiple plates of the same type), and disorganized. Some machine weight slabs are broken. Water fountain still out of service for "COVID" reasons. Sketchy homeless people congregate outside in the parking lot. I wish they had yoga mats provided for core exercises (maybe they do because I didn't look too hard for them). Nothing is without it's flaws. Some are easier to fix than others.

I used to live a very active lifestyle before life happened, I had medical issues, gained lots of weight, and was very out of shape. I joined ultimate fitness and hired, Houston, as my personal trainer. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. The PT plan comes with one on one sessions, a weekly meal plan, and access to their fitness app. Houston has been the game changer in helping me get back to living an active lifestyle, he’s tailored a workout/meal plan specific to my fitness goals. During training he’s helped me to become confident with lifting free weights and using their machines (I used to be intimidated by them, I had no experience with them at all). Overall, I would strongly recommend this gym, it’s not just a gym, the culture within it is very positive and supportive, especially for people that are new to working out. If you have specific fitness goals or you feel you need more guidance, definitely check out their personal trainer options, you won’t regret it!

Hands down the ugliest members of any gym I've been to. Looks like they get all the other gyms' rejects.so unmotivating to go there. Might wanna consider cleaning up the place a bit.

Joined Ultimate Fitness in June 2020. It’s been 3 months and I have to say I’m in the best shape I’ve been in my life. Houston the personal trainer is the best! Me and my 21yr old daughter have been training with him and we are very happy with our results so far. He is very polite and motivating. He doesn’t make you feel judged. The Gym is big and has plenty of room to feel comfortable. Everyone that works out there mind their own business. The gym and equipment are clean and maintained. I highly recommend checking it out!

Ive been coming to this gym for about 6 months now and I really like it. Houston (one of the members of the gym) really made me feel comfortable with working out. The staff is super nice and helpful. I love the environment here, I would definitely recommend to check this place out!

I used to go to that gym before the changed locations. The Gym was great, it had everything for a complete workout. The staff member Benny was such a great kind guy but Huston (Will Ferrel looking guy). He has that pervy look on his eyes and wont help you unless youre a girl. One time i lost my iphone under a treadmill and i told him. He said he couldnt do anything about it until the tech came to the gym. The next day the treadmill was out of service, i implied that he took it out. I never got my phone back. So i asked Benny if he ever found a phone and he told me that will ferrel looking guy never told him about it. The gym is great but if you loss something dont expect to get it back. They now dont have the treadmills and i lost 600 bucks there. Also when i canceled my membership they kept charging me for bout 3 months until i contact my bank. Got my money back but that ended my trust with that gym.

After the closure of the major gym that I was a member of, due to Covid, I was in need of a new home. I saw this place on Google and went to go check it out. They were blasting Breaking Benjamin when I arrived and that's when I knew that I was in the right place. It's a great place to get those gains

Just joined, on day 2 now. Staff is friendly and the gym seems to have everything you'd need, even with the changes they've had to make with the pandemic. I can tell it'll be really great once things return to some semblance of normal, it's a huge space & looks like it can offer alot!

Made the switch from a more mainstream gym to Ultimate Fitness. And I must say, best decision I’ve made! My overall physical health took a downturn even before COVID, and their their personal training staff have been phenomenal. I’ve made so many leaps in improving my strength and endurance. This place is truly one of the best gyms in San Diego!
