Ramen Restaurant Underbelly reviews
18Tried it for the first time the other night. Have to say were pretty underwhelmed by how average this place is. For how many good reviews it has, it was definitely just average. Not the worst, but definitely not the best.
Call me old fashion, Underbelly is most likely a gentrified and white-washed ramen restaurant that call themselves “Authentic”. It’s definitely not Japanese, but Asian Fusion.
Vibes were great, staff was super friendly, and service was fast despite it being very busy on a Saturday night, but found the food to be a bit on the bland side.
Sensational! Cant go wrong with their underbelly ramen. It was so delicious, I wish I had to belly's to continue eating. If you are in the neighborhood its a must try. I added sesame oil and some chile powder sprinkles. It was ready to rock and roll.
Came at 12am hungry off my Flight. My god this place is amazing. Excellent food and Selection. Drinks were great. Bathroom was gross though.
Place needs a deep clean.
Food was bomb, I had the belly of the beast ramen, and added the shredded garlic (great stuff). When we arrived, almost every table was dirty so we did have to wipe off our own table with a wipe that I had with me. The chicken katsu buns and seaweed salad were nice! Your server brings you a toppings tray with your food that has shoyu, sesame oil, ghost pepper sauce (delicious on the buns), and japanese pepper flakes for spicing the broth.
Honestly the ramen was extremely underwhelming. I got the no name ramen, and the flavors were really bland, I could only really taste the pickled ginger. On top of the lack of flavors the soup itself wasn’t very hot. At the very least the noodles were cooked well, but I could have made an instant ramen at home and put my own toppings/seasonings on and it would have been better.
This location IS NOT CURRENTLY OPEN. The other location is. Couldn't even try the food after walking a mile to this location before midnight. Please update your days and times. It would have been great to go.
Good food, when I got back to where I was staying I opened up my takeout bowl and a fly buzzed out. I remembered my Boy Scout days and ate it anyway, but what is going on in the kitchen?
Nice spot to grab some ramen. I personally got the reg tonkatsu ramen, extra noodles with a side of shrimp gyoza. Both were really tasty and best of all they had chilli flakes available which is my favorite to add to ramen. Service was quick and prompt. Definitely will go back again!
There’s a reason this place has so many reviews, and such a good rating. Worth the wait. Delicious food, amazing service, open late to boot.
I ordered the most pork-packed Ramen on the menu and it was perfect! Tender, savory, the noodles were so good! Staff was super friendly. I sincerely felt like they were my personal friends. Highly recommend this spot!
Placed an online order. Left a tip. Got home and half my order wasn't in the bag. Left a message but still haven't heard anything. Ramen was tasty.
Absolutely wonderful food. Great service. Visited there on 17May21. So glad they have extra seating on the street. They only good thing from COVID-19 is downtown street seating. Little Italy should keep the outdoor seating! Very nice open area.
If you are new, get the "Belly of the Beast" it is a great start, add or drop anything. The bacon wrapped mushrooms are phenomenal.
I like the Ramen and the belly. But the only disappointment was the beer I was waiting for it to go with my Ramen. So I order mochi dessert for my sister but then the server told me they run out of dessert. Top of that I request a spoon for my soup it takes 12 minutes to bring the spoon and the beer I was waiting long time 13 minutes. It was a lock of service to serve a guest what they like. Hopefully soon when I come back to visit the restaurant UNDERBELLY I hope they better served a guest.
Cute place in downtown little Italy, plenty of outdoor seating with heaters! I had the tonkotsu ramen without meat- the broth was so good! Some of the best broth I’ve had. Loved the toppings and the egg was a little more cooked than most ramen places which I liked (very slightly runny). The noodles were not the best I’ve had, a little gummy but still good. Cocktails were so good! I had the spicy margherita. Would eat here again!
Food is great a bit pricey for ramen the only reason I 3 star this place is the hostess has a horrible attitude and a demeaning way to communicate
