Underbelly North Park reviews
16Haven't been in here in like 5 years. Nothings changed, it's still amazing. The portions are still huge and the price is still low.
The ramen is absolutely divine! I had the Farmer's Market with an added egg and shrimp and it was *chef's kiss*, though it would be great without the add-ins. The char on the veggies brings out-of-this world flavor!
I had such a nice late lunch here today.
The person who helped me was so kind and helpful, given my annoying sesame seed allergy which can make ordering any Asian dishes tricky and pretty annoying.
The food was wonderful and came pretty quickly!
I got the bao buns with fried chicken, the cucumber salad and the chicken confit ramen.
If I lived in San Diego I’d definitely eat here often!
Delicious ramen! What else is there to say.i love getting the wide variety of add-ons too.
Wow! I stopped here for a drink and was a little hungry. The baos are fantastic—and my drink was excellent. I understand why there are lines to get in here. Unbelievably good!
Really great place, awesome ramen, full bar, cafeteria style seating! Hot sake, fire sauce for $1, this place is serving up soul food everyday, turning hangries into princes and princesses, lol. Cool spot, fair parking, best part besides the rocking music and hot delicious food are the hours, they are open late and don't rush you out! If you haven't been, go, if you've been, see you there next time!
Not bad! Good noodles, good toppings, and pretty flavorful tonkotsu broth. I tried the chicken confit ramen and it was pretty good. Not the best ramen, not the worst, I’d come back.
The food arrived fast and the service is attentive, the seating is cozy and exposed to the elements, very enjoyable on a nice day!
Update: when here again and had the Thai curry ramen. It was pretty tasty, with my favorite part about it being the barbecue shrimp which was amazing. The soup itself was not rich enough for a ramen, it was more watery/clear broth, but not bad. Green? In it were raw.
Although I prefer being waited on at restaurants (not ordering at counter), the staff was attentive and friendly. Underbelly’s food is always fantastic. Wow that broth!
Visiting here from Florida, had dinner with my fiancé. The hostess was extremely helpful in explaining their menu and how the restaurant worked also by providing recommendations. Our bartender Sarah was awesome. Will definitely be visiting here again.
Pretty solid spot! Service was quick, the ramen was delicious/flavorful, and the guy who brought my food today was really nice.
We ordered a cocktail, Underbelly Ramen, Curry Ramen, sausage skewers, and beef gyoza.
The gyoza was average (3/5 stars for sure) but the ramens hit so good (5/5) the sausage thing I got too reminded me of the mini breakfast sausage I used to eat (4/5) pretty interesting— never had it like that before but it was good overall.
Atmosphere was great. It was low light with warm tones, plants, and good hip hop music.
Absolutely fantastic. I visit San Diego for work often and I always make sure to make it to make it to North Park or Little Italy for some Belly of the Beast. Some of the best ramen I’ve found outside of Japan!
Ramen is great. Drinks are great. Staff is funny and friendly. I go here all the time and I love it
Staff are easily over stimulated during ordering, but funny.
Food was AMAZING!
Got the Underbelly Ramen and this will be our New Ramen spot.
Nice atmosphere and some of the employees are very nice. We didn't get much of a taste of the food unfortunately.
One of my favorite ramen spots in San Diego!
There is always line but it goes down quick. Service is A1 and ramen options are always on point. Highly recommend!
Cocktail are average in taste, but their presentation is great!
Normally underbelly knocks it out of the (north) park, however today was absolutely not that way.
My wife and I got our normal orders of belly of the beast with an extra egg.
The good: Tonkotsu broth was delicious
The bad: eggs were slightly over cooked and the meat felt like it had been left under a heat lamp since last night that it was barely edible.
Hopefully next time it will be back to the previous high.
