Underwood Bar and Bistro, Graton CA

I must say, my recent dining experience was certainly a noteworthy one! From the moment we were seated, the server was not only efficient but also welcoming, making us feel at ease and eagerly anticipating the meal to come. And what a meal it was! The cuisine was nothing short of exceptional, with two particular dishes leaving an indelible impression on me. First, the lobster mac n cheese, with its perfectly cooked pasta and succulent chunks of lobster, was an absolute standout. But that's not all - the Filet was cooked to perfection, with a seared exterior giving way to a tender, juicy center that simply melted in my mouth. Overall, my dining experience was simply outstanding, and I look forward to returning to enjoy the exceptional service and delicious cuisine once again.

The server had a little edge. Smiled but talked like she was bothered by everything. Food was average. Cute little dive downtown.

Their food is delicious. Cocktails are on point! Service is great. It can get a little busy so plan on making reservations if you want a guaranteed spot. One of my top spots in Sonoma county.

The Underwood Bistro never fails to be an awesome experience, there are so many great restaurants in the north Bay Area but we keep coming back to Underwood as one of our favorites, it’s so good!

This place is a little hideaway in the back roads of West Sonoma County. They serve up the best cocktails, the menu is simple - classic and delicious. I have spent many a time at a table or on a bar stool. Hadn't paid them a visit in a long time. Sure glad I went on date night with my wife. Perfect warm and charming atmosphere too.

Rustic meets Asian fare. Excellent.
The patio is spacious, bright and relaxing. Eat there if you can. The Hanger steak is fantastic. The Cauliflower Au Gratin is exactly what you expect; creamy and delicious. Their Mac & Cheese is for KIDS AND ADULTS (awesome). Exceptional service. Can't wait to go back and try their Thai dishes.

It was very good, I went with my brother and husband. We were planning on having steak but they changed the menu. I had salmon instead it was delicious.

My wife and I had eaten here over 10 years ago and had given it a great review at that time. We were wondering if it would still be as great as it was then, and we were not disappointed. I had the flat iron steak frites and my wife had the hearts of romaine salad and both of them were fantastic. My wife had a glass of wine which was very nice and I had a Manhattan which was one of the best I’ve had. The service was exceptional also. Graton is not a big town but the Underwood restaurant is definitely going out of your way to visit if you were in the Sonoma and Napa area.

Great bar and bistro. Many selections of drinks. The food items are yummy, especially raw oysters and Pad Thai (I’m from Thailand so I know what it’s supposed to taste like). They have beautiful indoor and outdoor seating areas. If you come to Graton or on your way to Russian River, don’t forget to stop by Underwood bar and bistro.

The short ribs are always excellent. The Pad Thai was a little to chewy for my taste. Not as good as street vendor Pad Thai in Bangkok. Needs a little work

We were recommended to eat here from our wine tasting trip at Equality Vines. Steak frites were great, heard they had good oysters which we got our 10yo son to eat and like! My youngest got the mac & cheese which was good. I had there Massaman Ped, thai curry duck leg. The curry was great, just enough heat to still taste and not overly sweet. The duck leg was a little dry and very salty though. The adults had mojito, whiskey smash & old fashioned which were all potent but still easy to sip. The host & server for our table were attentive and helpful. We'll be back to try more of the menu.

What a wonderful place. Had not eaten here for a while but it was just fantastic, the salmon tartare delicious, the steak cooked to perfection, the pad Thai really wonderful, and a great Irish coffee to end. Everything just perfect. Also the staff kind and delightful. Strongly recommend.

Well stocked bar, and a nice selection of small plates and mains. Service was wonderful, and food was excellent. Our new favorite in the area!

I've had better experiences here in the past. Menu very limited. Was a long wait for the food. Wait staff kind of cold. Had a negative experience with the fried chicken dish which my niece ordered. There was an extremely hot pepper in the cucumber salad that came with it. Nothing noted in the menu about it being hot. She accidentally bit down on the pepper and it was so hot, she could barely catch her breath. Mouth on fire for several minutes, eyes watering, in severe pain. We asked for milk to help relieve the burning, took a few min to come. No one asked if she was okay. When I asked the waitress if there was anything she could do regarding comping my niece's meal, she said she'd check. But she came back with the bill and just dropped it on the table, didn't say anything to me. The bill showed full price for the chicken entree. I then had to go ask for the manager. After explaining the situation, and some back and forth, the manager reluctantly comped the dish, which I was grateful for. Given the price point of the restaurant, I expected a much higher level of customer service. We won't be eating here again.

Great place with a nice cozy Bistro ambiance. Steak and Frites were good and cooked to order. Mine was a slightly chewy cut. Sadly the service is what is holding back the review. Ordered a favorite cocktail specifically paired with the oysters and the cocktail never came. Was rather a disappointment. At the end when we were paying, there were three of us and 2 cards and the server never asked how we wanted the bill split, did it 50/50 and made for an uncomfortable situation.

Although the N. Y. Steak was $40 it was well worth it. The side mash potatoes and asparagus were the best I've ever tasted, no lie! Then they topped it with some delicious onion rings.

Had a huge plate of fries for appetizer. They may have been the best ever! Hanger steak and fries yes! Thai fried chicken oh yes! Salmon with baby bok choy sublime. Nice atmosphere, good service. I like a limited menu of just what they do well. Thai food and steak place is perfect combo. We will be back!

Food is great quality. Menu is odd & eclectic. Not many choices for entrees. Why thai? We were never given info on that. Both restrooms broke which was crazy. Had to go across the street where there was a single restroom for a busy Sat night of guests. Service was a bit uneven. Had to stop many staff to ask for things etc. Wonky is the overall description of my experience.
