Do not join this member. If you stop the member, you have to pay for the fee for the whole year, no matter what. They just taking your money from your paycheck. Do nothing. Eating your money.

If it were not for the union I wouldn't have hope. We have people fighting for us continually for optimal wages, hours, benefits, health and dental insurance. If skeptics actually heard how this process takes form (i.e, watched California channel) they would have a better understanding of how our best interests are actually made known /communicated by our advocates.
We are fortunate to have representatives that speak up for us to improve our lives while we do the very difficult work we do. Its a blessing and is appreciated by this care provider of a severely disabled daughter. We lost her dad when she was a toddler. That was 30 years ago and during those difficult years struggled through the many new diagnosed problems, inundated I equipment, supplies, meds and responsibilities that came with it. If there is hope it can motivate you to get things done. I couldn't have done it without the union. Its just that simple.

I thought Unions are supposed to be organized? This one certainly isn't! I only recently joined and am likely going to revoke my membership after getting the run around during the Turkey giveaway for Thanksgiving. I ended up wasting gas and my time for nothing, no turkey, no apology for calling me and saying they were waiting for me to come, less than 15 minutes later I am there, alone. Not a person in sight. This is after I was told two different times for the event, then I got a call from Linda (I guess works at the union office) as I was walking out the door to go to the event, who tells me to come now (already on my way) and says she'll be there with a refrigerated truck with my turkey, no problem. I drive from Vista to San Marcos, less than 15 minute drive, and the place is deserted when I get there. Why the phone call Linda? Why bother to call and say you're waiting for me, then leave anyway? So I call the regional office, no one ever returns my call to even acknowledge what happened, when I called the number Linda had dialed me from, the only voice mail was in Spanish, which I don't speak.
I was going to try to get some PPE supplies, but after reading the reviews, I think I'll just quit the union instead. Very disappointing, I was looking forward to be a union member because I know they can really advocate for workers, apparently not this union.

I called and asked for assistance these people that answer can’t even understand English and will definitely tell you to call this section or that section. When you do you get referred back to UDW. If I press 1 for English I expect my representative to be fluent in understanding and writing and listening to English.

I'm an IHSS provider, UDW invited me to receive free Protection equipment at their office in Santa Ana, and their they told me to sign a form in order to receive Protection equipment, after a while i figured out it was a Membership request. Now after three months they are not responding to my Membership resignation request!

What an amazing opportunity! We are devoted men and women who are committed to helping others! Joining the union gave me a sense of how important we are and we deserve the support and we're not forgotten.

It's a union. If you're complaining that they're a "communist organization, " you really don't know the history of labor in this country. You pay dues, you get benefits and protections, the end. Better than the alternatives, believe me.
