Universal Pain Management, Valencia CA

This place is getting worse through the years. I have two insurances: Medicare and Anthem Blue Cross. And I still get charged only to get my prescriptions over the phone. I don’t know what is going on with insurances these days but they need to cover us at least when we don’t have procedures. I have an appointment today and Cristy and Vanessa called me from Universal Pain Management telling me that my card wasn’t charged last month because it was declined. I have been out of the country and the bank had to put a hold on my visa just in case since I didn’t intend to use it until coming back. So that’s why they didn’t get the payments. Even after they charge my 2 insurances I still have to pay $100 monthly. About 3 months ago Robin told me that I was owing less that $100. But today they told me that I owe $120.
So they told me today that I couldn’t take the appointment which is over the phone at most 5 minutes and it’s for my 2 prescriptions until, I paid $100. As per Robin at the billing department. She told them not to give me my medications if I didn’t make a payment today. They put me on hold and called her. She told them I had to pay at least $50. Shame on you Robin. I have been paying $100 automatically every month. You have been taking the money every month and only because there was no payment in the last 2 months you blocked my medications. The 2 Medications that I need or I could die. But you don’t care. It shows that they are all about the money and not to help the patients; I saw this today.

The front office staff is unprofessional, rude on the phone and in the office. They do not acknowledge you when you come in. They are more concerned with socializing among each other then helping the customer.

Never again am i going there if you’re breasfeeding mom and in pain dont even bother going here they will just shame you for breastfeeding and tell you dont you think thats enough

Coming In I didn't have high hopes in finding proper pain management due to previous experiences elsewhere dealing with uncommon conditions. But Dr. Kohan really does try to accommodate your pain level as best as possible, and the front desk assistants always answer the phone almost immediately. Really great facility, and they have locations all over the LA county.
