Uno Tre Otto reviews
14This used to be one of our favorite go to places for going out to dinner. In terms of food it still is, but sadly they have started to he greedy and added more tables than the tiny kitchen can handle and so orders are forgotten or you’ll have to wait for your dish while the rest of the table is almost done eating. Also they will run out of items but not tell you until way later. That’s a sad thing because once you get your food it’s actually always delicious.
Waaaay too salty. So much so as to be inedible. Maybe the regular chef was off? The pasta was a bit overcooked for our taste. I also didn't see any big farm to table action happening in the dishes. Very few vegetables at all in the dishes, actually. The desert was good.
This place is literally a hidden gem! We love everything about it. They serve fresh seasonal food cooked in a small open kitchen to perfection! It’s cute, cozy, and romantic. Very small inside with maybe 10 tables but they manage to be consistently great every time we’ve dined here. One of our favorite Italian “go to” restaurants.
Excellent staff with knowledge of the menu.
Amazing quality of produce with the freshest of ingredients. Perfect portion sizes. Beautiful spot tucked away.
Excellent food and cocktails. Crab tagliatelle was probably the best pasta dish I’ve had anywhere! Each course was delicious- would definitely recommend
I had a salad and the rigatoni with a Long Island iced tea. The service was excellent The food was amazing and the drink was fantastic compliments to the chef and the bartender, thank you
Small eclectic place with wonderful food that has an old classic interior with additional outdoor seating.
The food presentation, quality and tastes here were impeccable.
We had reservations which I recommend if wanting indoor seating as it is a snug but a warm and comfortable space.
The menu is limited in as much there are three Primi and three Secondi to choose from with a handful of Antipasti and two desserts. The dishes are skillfully prepared. The textures, flavors and taste are layered yet sophisticated. You will be able to taste your dish without it being overtaken by any of the flavors added.
Ordered: Roasted Beet Salad —Tagliatelle All.a Vongole —
Milanese —pork tenderloin, — Poached Wild Icelandic Cod and both dessert: Brioche Bread Pudding and Butterscotch Budino.
The drinks are also more custom here than I’ve experience elsewhere again bursting with flavors: if you like Mezcal—Firing Squad, No. 2 is a must!
Highly recommended but, I would say for special occasions. It’s pricey but well worth the experience.
This is a cozy friendly eatery. The food was excellent. The bread was delicious. Great Italian restaurant.
Loved the sea clams! So yummy. I love Uno Tre Otto’s mission and focus on sustainability and how they support local gardens. It was a really special fresh experience and can’t wait to go back again. This was my second time:)
Uno Tre Otto is a hidden gem right in the heart of Claremont. It has the air of a restaurant you might stumble upon in a small Italian town-warm, inviting, quaint but surprisingly spacious, and most of all, delicious. Our mains were the Casarecce, the Cod, and the Tagliatelle, but the stars for us were the Polenta (decadent, creamy, flavourful) and the Butterscotch Budino (like a huge, soft caramel that got better as we kept eating it). The service was wonderful, as was the ambience. We ended up sitting for around two hours, just enjoying the ambience and the food, which was lovely. We sat outside, but we hope to sit inside sometime, as it looks like a tiny tavern! We can't wait to go back to Uno Tre Otto and experience more of their offerings!
I was there tonight for the Valentine’s Day pre fixe menu. They messed up my appetizer to begins with. But overall was just okay. For a high-scale and farm-to-table establishment, I would expect the dishes to taste better. The flavor was just okay. May be they offer better dishes on their regular menu but tonight, the overall experience from how they messed up my dish to finish was just below average quality. They also added a 20% gratuity on the bill which I’m okay to pay for that if it’s worth it but from start to finish, they definitely didn’t deserve that 20% gratuity. Plus, they didn’t do anything about messing my order on a special date. Definitely won’t come back.
An incredible farm-to-table Italian inspired restaurant with an elevated menu, drinks, and dessert. Very small, rustic, and beautiful interior. Definitely recommend for a date, reservations are highly encouraged.
We have been there a few times but this time we were very disappointed. The menu was limited without much variety. Food was just Ok. I was extremely disappointed when we received the bill. I think of myself as very generous and never tipped below 20%, we were a party of four yet when we receive the bill they automatically add 20% tip to the bill. Again it is a tip. It is up to me to decide how much not up to them to add to the bill. It seems like they raise the prices by 20% is what they were stating when the aromatically add the 20% tip to the bill. It is also dependent on the service in the food. Very disappointed will not go back again.
