Up the Hill Grill, Ramona CA

Worst service I’ve ever had, the waitress was extremely rude. She was complaining the entire meal, failed to mention they were out of chicken until the rest of the meals were served making one guest wait to eat. She then didn’t even take the meal that was ordered and not served off the ticket. Will never return and will recommend no one eat here, if you do come never ask to split the ticket the waitress will complain about it and be rude if you do. Also our meal for 6 people totaled around $180 for 5 meals (bearing in mind the 6th guest had to split a meal as she didn’t want everyone else’s food to get cold since she had to reorder). Very ridiculous price for an over cooked and dry burger with rude staff. We just ate at the fish market on the harbor in San Diego for better food at a better price and a server who didn’t complain and say snide/rude comments the entire time.

The best seared Ahi that I have had in Ramona. They just brought back fish and chips which is great. Nice tartar sauce. Fish is not battered in-house but nice. Large portion of fries. Never had a bad meal there. Wine is half the price of other restaurants. Single server at lunchtime so can be a little slow sometimes but we enjoy the friendly servers and atmosphere.

We each had the Maple bourbon bacon burger, it was absolutely amazingly delicious I recommend eating here.

This place was appalling. It was so bad, that we ended up cutting our dinner early and just asked for boxes and the check. The food was decent, but the service was the worst service we’ve ever had anywhere. Poor communication on the server’s end, missing food items that never came even after asking a 2nd and 3rd time, and we literally had to go searching through the restaurant to find someone just to get our check and boxes. Extremely disappointed! I don’t know what the server was on, but we’ll stay far away from this place moving forward.

Do not bother unless you want to wait three hours for your food during a slow time! Terrible service, never coming back again.

WOW! This place is not big inside, but sure does offer a big experience. Food was great and super fresh. Meat was tender and juicey good. We went late in afternoon probably 4ish. Party 7,2 where children, and a friend from Romania who was here for my Son's and her best friend from childhoods wedding, we went up to my new daughter in laws brother's and and sister in laws home where the wedding t[k place and finished cleaning up. Large beautiful landscape home, wedding was gorgeous. And was pretty hot also. But back to food. I would totally recommend this place, the decor inside also makes it just very very cool. Gave us all things to look at as well as the children. Has a clean and artistic junk yard pickings kinda of a look. But very cool, front of cars with headlights. Prices are also pretty great. You won't be disappointed. Serving sizes are as well prentiful enough to share or take home for later which in my case that's what I had done.

Hello, This was our second visit at the Up the Hill Grill. Our first visit months ago was great. We ordered the same burger and slider plate tonight. The taste was good but the meat was very tough and rubbery. It tasted like the meat was old and frozen, then thrown on the grill. We waited for the server to check on us to let her know but she didn’t show up until our unappetizing meal was finished. When she finally showed up, we let her know about the meat and also that we would like our check. She said, thank you for letting us know and then disappeared for what seemed like 30 minutes. We thought she was talking with the manager about the problem and maybe offer a discount or reimbursement. When she showed up, she charged us for everything and didn’t apologize for our experience. We live here in Ramona and are self employed as well. We support local businesses but felt that it was right to let you all know our experience. Btw the other dishes we saw looked appetizing.

Some of the best bar food I've ever had. The onion rings and mozerella sticks were amazing. Can't even describe. The food was fresh and very very tasty. Come hungry, order anything and everything.

Bonus note, the Bacon Mac and Cheese can be ordered as a side.

I had the Bourbon bacon burger and it was delicious. The wait staff was very nice. I would go back and try the other food. Small inside but enough outdoor seating to accommodate more, weather permitting.

Great little find while out shopping in Ramona and the kids got hungry. My son ordered a burger as he does everywhere we go and said this one was the best he'd ever had. We'll definitely be back!

The Ahi tuna was a great starter plate. The buffalo wings were so good, that we order a second round. Food was very tasty! Outdoor seating was perfect vide! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Be prepared for a long wait (40min) between placing your order and getting your food. Had the avocado sliders and the avocado sandwich. In my opinion, the sandwich was better, possibly due to the garlic aioli, than the sliders, but both were good. Onion rings were also good.

Best food ever! The hamburgers were great the jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon where the best poppers I've ever had and the seared Ahi was just wonderful. We sat outside and spent the evening talking two hours later.

Really nice variety of lunch and dinner items.from simple wings to big burgers with brisket on top. Wife had the Mac n Cheese/tater tots with brisket on top.more than enough to share. Every item I've tried has been really good.

Really enjoyed stopping in for a cold draft beer and some of tasty apps. Jalapeno poppers, garlic parmesan fries and fries green beans. Hit the spot. Attentive service too. Outdoor seating a plus during covid! Just go!
