Upper Parking Lot reviews
2There are two parking lots at the north gate of Mount Diablo State Park. One is at the entrance gate and one is at the Mount Diablo Summit Museum. The summit parking lot is the upper parking lot. It is not that big and gets filled quickly during peak hours. Fortunately, we got to park our car at the upper parking lot. There is a restroom at the parking lot and it is the beginning of hiking trails too. Just from the parking lot, you can see the stunning mountain view.
Tarantula mating, season is approximately the end of September to the end of October, you can see tarantulas crossing the road at Sunset. We highly recommend rock city, just follow the signs towards Centennial rock, that’s a great Lookout point, the views everywhere are amazing. It is $10 to get into the state park, or you can hike up for an hour through Blackhawk for free.
