Valley Wells Rest Area - Southbound reviews
18This rest area is open despite the sign in that Nevada town 27 miles back that says it's closed. However it's pretty small for the traffic going through. Ppl park on the sand. Traffic was backed up on the ramp while ppl were trying to find parking the whole hour I looked at it. Some of the stall doors don't lock. There were toilet paper rolls on the floor of a stall because it's holder was broken. And there was a broken soap dispenser in the side I used. The toilets work and I think it has vending but this place really needs an upgrade.
Nice area to rest. Overall a very clean place, and has some nice views outside. I really like the information boards even inside the bathrooms, it's interesting to read while you rest. There's a vending machine and an EV charging station, which function exactly as they should. There's a very nice amount of benches to sit on everywhere - both in the sun and in the shade. There's plenty of parking for cars, the disabled, and especially loaded semi trucks. Honestly, it's a bit more than I expected for a place that is practically in the middle of nowhere.
Great spot to take a break and enjoy the view. They only have restrooms here, which are nice and clean. Minimalistic setup.
Well kept rest stop with plenty of toilets, urinals, vending machines, picnic tables and benches. Also can walk your dog with a nice scenary
Nothing like a bathroom stop when on the Desert hwy. However, the New Tourist Information Boards lack the History of the Indigenous People's Original Passage Routes thru the Desert from Utah to Vegas to The Victorville area That are now the Hwy 15. They used to be there. So Awesome. They were there for yrs. Now, They now Advertise and promote other tourist interest. That's good. But the History of Indigenous People Contributions needs to be Observed. Please Bring them back.
On the road traveling home from lake Mead and needed to stop for a nature break. It's new since last year and very nice, and clean.
Great last place to have a wee before hitting Vegas. Especially a lifesaver for those who are stubborn and think they can hold it until they get to Vegas but can't. Valley Wells won't judge you for your stubbornness.
Nice, clean, however, its closed quite often for repairs. It's a relatively new facility, so I don't understand why, it's closed so often?
Great, Safe place to sleep in ones car as your headed west, nice facilities, well lite, plenty people around, feel safe, stop here if your feeling a bit drowsy
In Nipton, California, is Valley Wells Rest Area. It's also the state line between Nevada and California. There is a charging station for electric cars. I don't have one, but it's nice to know the ones who have one can recharge it here. There are several benches for you to wait.
The restrooms are ok. The area has signs and views of the desert part of California.
I saw a lot of crows in the area as well. It seems they are smart enough to stand right between the pointy ends of the spikes someone put to keep them off. It's a nice place to take a small hike around.
Not a lot of rest area have vending machine options but this one does! There's 4 total 2 are beverages & the other 2 are snacks I came at 2am a lot of cars parked outside, very clean & the awesome part there's outlets that work a lot of seating areas as well
Very clean area, it has large cement tables with covered roof which makes very comfortable to take lunch or eat something during your rest, Also with vending machines with a variety is snacks and drinks.
To the point. No fuss. Clean facilities. For this visit (Sept 2021), there were two food carts! I’ve never seen that before. Hurrah for entrepreneurs!
This is the most complete rest area in the Mojave Desert. It has a lot of water, vending machines and a charging station for Ecars.
Every time we travel on the i. 15,
We like to make a quick stop at this rest area because even when it's hot we enjoy the desert heat. I like to take my kids for a little walk and look at the different types of rocks on the ground, and use the binoculars to see the mountains,
and it is always clean.
The bathroom and picnic tables looked clean. There was a staff member onsite cleaning when we visited. Nice place to stop and rest during the day.
I really appreciate the employees that work at this rest stop. They keep this place so nice and clean. Thank you to all the workers who take care of the rest areas and highways.
Very well kept and clean stop to have lunch on a long road trip day. Clean restrooms and covered tables. Nice waking trail area for kids to explore and pets to be walked.
Nice rest area. Clean restrooms. Good place to stretch your legs with ample parking available. If you are hungry and can't wait to reach another place, there are a couple of vendors selling refreshments.
