Valvoline Instant Oil Change, San Diego CA

This is a good location for them. They took my coupons which had issues (they figured it out) and got me in and out quickly. The crew communicated well.

I have been different Valvoline Instant Oil Change centers in the past, including locations that are within the same franchise family in the San Diego area. In my experience across the different centers, the one that stands out most is the 12055 Scripps Summit Dr.location in San Diego. The attention to detail was outstanding and beyond any previous experience. The manner of interaction with the specialists was professional, straightforward, friendly and thorough. And, while I understand that part of their job is to recommend additional services, I perceived no excess of pressure or sense of urgency. However, if they had placed emphasis on any aspect of maintenance that would keep my vehicle running efficiently, I would consider their suggestions in earnest. These individuals gave me a sense of confidence that the services they provide are carried out with the care and concern, and I will return to this location in the future.

Very fast, efficient service. The technician lets you know the manufacturer recommended services. No high pressure sales. Just explains what's recommend and why it's needed.

The workers were nice and easy to talk with. However I called ahead of time to make sure they had the correct oil for my transfer case. I had to talk with 3 different people including the assistant manager who assured me she had the correct oil. When I got there, they scanned my car and "sorry we don't have the correct oil". Very frustrating since I went out of my way to call ahead.

The manager directed me to wait for 15 minutes behind a car when they had another bay open. I eventually left and went to the Mira Mesa location instead where I was served instantly.

Had an amazing service experience at the Scripps Valvoline today. Ashley and the rest of the team were excellent: friendly, skilled, and efficient. They checked in with me for consent before doing anything, like opening the doors to check the vin/air filter, which oil we were going with, and showed me the dip stick after the change. They ran many safety checks and let me know what additional services were recommended but there was no pressure or upselling. They honored my Groupon (which I recommend getting) and the tax+hazardous waste disposal fee was only an additional $5. It was such a smooth process and I was in and out in under 15 minutes. It was 100% worth the time and money and I definitely recommend coming here.

The workers are always helpful and kind. I would trust on what they say. Quick and easy! I would never go to any other place for an oil change.

Loved every part of the service at this Valvoline. I live in Escondido and would happily drive to scrips ranch to get my oil changed just for that service. Thx Gio and Steve!

Great customer service by Ashley, don’t have to get out of your car and so fast! I LOVE them! Will be coming back to this location exclusively for all needs!

Unprofessional employees- Will not admit when they make a mistake. I do not advise coming here unless you want to pay $400+ for them screwing up something as simple as an oil change.

Never come here! This company is horrible and doesn’t know what they are doing! I came for an oil change and they put way too much oil in causing damage to my car! They were very rude and did not take any responsibility for their mistakes. Stay away from this place they’re horrible!

Fake technicians. These guys don’t know what they are doing and it led to hundreds of dollars in repairs. How about hiring an actual experienced lube tech that’s not straight out of high school?

Horrible company! They have no idea what they are doing. Don’t even think about going there for an oil change because they will put too much and you will break down. They don’t care about you and they are only in it for the money!

Terrible company. They put too much oil in my car and my car broke down. I took to my mechanic and he confirmed that the cause of my car breaking down was because they put too much oil. They do not want to reimburse, cover additional damage charge or even own up to their mistake. Such a disgrace of a company and have zero morals.

Terrible service. I got my oil changed there and they put too much oil in my car and caused it to break down. After months of back- and - forth arguing they refused to take responsibility for their actions and I had to cover the damages

So friendly and fast! I was in an out in no time. Super knowledgeable and all-around great experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly which made all the difference. I loved that I was able to stay in my car.

Quick and relatively painless. Did take note of the employee putting my air filter back in. He kept trying to force it in backwards. Should be obvious to never put the dirty side back in facing toward the engine. Eventually he got it turned around and struggled with it for another minute. This wound up bending some retaining clips preventing a good seal. I had to bend them back and clean up the airbox when I replaced the filter myself. No permenant damage but is concerning.
