Valvoline Instant Oil Change, La Mesa CA

Arturo, Carlos, Jose, Marco, Thalia here helped me out a lot. Very very nice and informal. I moved out here recently and this is the only place I take my car too. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this location if you need an oil change.

The associates are very pleasant but the set up is unfortunate. 4 cars were serviced before me even though I was in line ahead of them because one of the cars in the bay in front of me took over 43 minutes. The cars are single file so I was stuck, unable to leave or get service for then waited for my oil change to finally be completed so it took well over an hour.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. Didn’t try to drive up the sale. Thorough and fast. Best ever auto maintenance service!

I don't go anywhere else. The fellas are always sweet and helpful. They do a great job and keep me smiling through the whole process. I've never spent longer than 20 minutes getting my car serviced.

Very bad service, the 15 minutes/ no waiting, took almost 2 hours, I am extremely late to get my children from school and they didn't even have the decency to let us know and that lane is growing longer. Definitely NEVER coming back

I’ve been here twice now and both times were very efficient. This most recent time I felt like Tyrone truly went above and beyond which really meant a lot. That man deserves a raise! I used the 10% off QR code they have posted and when I pulled up a $7 off coupon on their website he told me exactly what to Google to get their $15 off coupon instead. My check engine light is on and I went out on a limb to ask if they had a code reader which they did and even though it’s been buggy and he said he meant to order a new one today he still tried a couple times to make sure. He even showed me a great website for car parts and YouTube videos! A little plastic piece of my dipstick did chip off when the other guy (I didn’t catch his name) was doing the oil change but they took pictures, explained everything, noted it on my file, and was very transparent about the customer service process and how long it may take to hear back from them. Honestly, Tyrone made it such a pleasant experience I couldn’t even be mad about the dipstick and I still have no problem returning for my next oil change.

Honestly, I love this place and I have been coming here for years. However this is the second time I have had an issue here. One time they tried to rotate my tires and broke a plastic hub cap. Oh well. Then today there was a female tech who just had a poor attitude and literally open hand slapped my battery box cover a few times to close it when all you have to do is use TWO HANDS to slide it in and click it together. Like I get it, not the end of the world, but if you're gonna work on customers' cars right in front of their face, don't disrespect their car right in front of them. Supervisor needs to have a chat with her about attitude and professionalism. I will still come back here for my next oil change, but it will be my last if I have another dumb issue like today.

Update: Got home and looked under the hood. Battery box cover was loose. Had to put it back together myself. Their battery tester tool said my battery was bad, checked it with my multimeter and it's fine. It also appears when they refilled my wiper fluid that they sprayed it onto my engine cover accidentally and onto the timing belt somewhat without bothering to wipe it off. Come on Valvoline La Mesa. You're better than this.

Took to long to get anything done. Truck and trailer took up too much room for other customers.

I have been going to this location for several years had all my oil changes and transmission services done at this location. I will never return to this Valvoline or any other valvoline oil change center anywhere. My oil pan was cracked after a visit. I filed a claim with Valvoline customer care and received a call from the Manager Marco. Marco didn’t want to listen and kept over taking me. Rude is an understatement. I didn’t really expect valvoline to own up to its mistake but to have a rude person talk down to you after you have spent money at their business is not acceptable to me. Buyer beware.

I was in and out very quickly. The customer service was also excellent! Tyrone and the team were a big help. Definitely recommend
