Van Nuys Mega Passport Office

Postal passport office website says that you can walk in without appointment too. But you should know that this means that you could be standing next to entrance in huge line of waiting people behind for 2-4 hours while 50-60 people with appointments walk in instantly and stuff don’t even look at you.

Bad service is to slow the people working inside to slow come on i waiting for 3 hours and the just come one peolpe every 3 hours come on

We had a 1pm appointment today. Arrived at 12: 30pm, stood in a short line, and was checked in by 12: 45pm. Waited until 12: 50pm and was called by employee to process paperwork. Everything was done quickly and the employee was so kind! Photo was taken and we were finished by 1: 00pm! I would HIGHLY recommend this office. Go online and check periodically for appointments - I was able to book this appointment YESTERDAY!

Absolutely absurd. Total disregarded for humanity! I was there since open 9: 30am and a guy came and said at 5: 45 they close the door. Guess what? They did! After 8 hrs there sitting on the floor with my wife and 7 year old son and couldn't get in before they close. Even tho they close at 6. Everyone should be fired from there. I talked to the supervisor there and made my complaint. Guess what her excuse was? She Said there were people that made it in they were here at 830 and I should do the same

Terrible experience. First time to get the US passport. We been here since this morning and until now 1: 00 pm, we still here outside. What a terrible service.

ARRIVE AN HOUR OR TWO EARLIER THAN WHEN IT OPENS! Or make an appointment.the staff is very friendly especially the guy by the exit with the long hair!
most bad reviews are from people who didn’t do research before and probably showed up a couple hours before closing.i got here at about 7: 15am on a saturday and there was already a line of 20ish people ahead of me.still i waited about 3 hours outside until it was finally my turn and waited about 10mins inside.the whole process only took 5 mins and i was already out by the afternoon! I have no complaints about the wait mainly because it was last minute for me and i couldn’t find an appointment until August and my flight is in October.just make sure you have everything printed and filled out before you get there and it’ll be quick! For regular passport + expedited shipping was about $277.
FYI there are no restrooms and no benches so you can either bring a foldable chair or sit on the ground.line is in the shade which is good too

Did a walk-in, was greeted and promptly seen. Nice staff and overall simple process. The waiting area could use more seating and shade since the heat's beating down more. Felt a bit stuffy and could use better A/C inside, but overall pleasant experience. Keep up the great work

While the place itself could definitely use a bathroom and a water cooler, this review is for the employees. One by one wonderful, kind, empathetic people. It was really touching to see how patient each employee was while helping their customer. Everyone was so friendly and I came at the end of the day so this is not a given at all. My experience here today really warmed my heart. Also, got my passport renewed in two hours Thanks for the human, loving service

Just wanted to mention that this post office is no longer open 24 hours the other day I went by there and they closed before midnight so if you’re wanting to mail out some thing really late you’re not gonna be able to and they don’t open till 10 AM and was hoping that the post office change this on their profile

How can this place service us citizens but does not even have a bathroom available? They send you to Taco Bell! You have to wait in lines for hours, elderly people, children, I am sure people with health conditions, and no bathroom available? I am still in disbelief.

Nightmare. Can’t even get into the small parking lot. People lined up along the length of the building, some sitting on the ground.

I was terrified of doing this passport paper because of the horrible line I saw every day.but I made an appointment through the website, and it was easy. I downloaded the DS-11 form and filled it out with my son's information, then I went to my appointment 30 minutes before and to my surprise the process lasted 15 minutes, Angela attended me super friendly, and efficient. Those who complain here are because they do not want to make an appointment and prefer to waste time. But do not criticize the team. They are very fast. Thank you

Giving this place 5 stars for the great customer service I received today. My family and I got to this location at 6am (we had no appointment). We felt a little nervous due to there being a good amount of people there already, us not having an appointment and we weren’t guaranteed the help. However, once they opened up we were greeted with big smiles and a positive attitude by Victoria. She was patient, helpful and overall extremely kind. She kindly walked each one of us step by step on all the paper work we had and needed and off we went to grab a seat to wait for the clerk to help us. After waiting for about 10 minutes, Jordan called our number and finalized our paperwork. Just like Victoria, he was patient and positive, he even cracked a joke or two. He was very detailed on all the steps we could take to see our process for our passports in the future. Both of these wonderful staff members definitely made us feel welcomed, very taken care of and overall thankful that someone understood we, as many other, have been waiting for hours in the cold and the last thing we would have wanted was bad customer service.

We have been at this location since 7 AM and currently it’s 3 PM and we still haven’t been seen we are dead tired in line waiting. This is the worst customer service. I cannot believe this and the problem with appointments is that the earliest appointment available is after a month.

Even when you have number, you should be just lucky to be served in order, favoritism runs

If you have an appointment it's not too bad. I still had to wait an hour after my appointment too turn in my paperwork. Without an appointment, you can wait all day and still not get in.

Made an appointment for a new passport but still had to wait in line since this post office allows walk-ins. Defeats the purpose of having to make an appointment in the first place. No restroom for those with an appointment waiting in line. Again, very poorly thought out. Almost didn’t make it to my doctor’s appt after this appointment due to the long wait. Employees seemed to be nonchalant and taking their sweet time while chatting with each other. If it were a private/corporate company some would have been fired already, but this is a gov.agency so it figures. It’s no wonder gov employees get a bad rap.
