With little time in SF, I booked the city tour for me and my 11 year old son. What a fabulous experience! We had a blast, saw every sight, and learned so much about the city from our wonderful guide, Chad. Do not hesitate to book this tour, perfect for families with kids, even solo travelers would not be disappointed. Chad creates a fun atmosphere and made the solo traveler in our group feel right at home. It was great, wish more cities had a tour like this! My son told me he had so much fun and was so grateful that we booked the tour!

If I could rate this tour 100/5 I would! Chad runs the most amazing tour of the city. I am lucky enough to have done this tour twice now. Once in 2016 with my family and now I’ve taken a friend along in 2023. I’ve attached two photos of my two visits for the comparison! If I am lucky enough I will return and do this tour a third time!

We decided to do this tour on our second day of the trip and it is the most perfect way to get an overview of the city. If you’re staying for longer like myself it gives you the opportunity to see what you want to come back a visit in more detail.
Chad is a very enthusiastic and passionate tour guide who gives a very personal feeling your. You have the benefit of being in a small group not on a large commercial tour bus. One of the best things about this tour is that the VW van is allowed everywhere in the city whereas the big tour buses are not allowed in a large portion.
The tour also allows stops for getting out and taking your best tourist photos! As well as just soaking in the beautiful scenery.

It is an amazing tour and will forever be one of the best things I’ve ever done!

Chad was an incredibly upbeat and accommodating tour guide who truly knows San Francisco and the surrounding area like the back of his hand. Everything was perfect! It's a great idea to start your San fran trip with this tour service to scope out areas to experience in more depth. We celebrated our honeymoon trip in the Bay Area and I can't recommend Vantigo enough!

We had a wonderful tour of San Francisco and Chad was fantastic. He really knows the city and shared a wealth of information about not only the city of San Francisco but also the region before the city's founding.

His van 'Lilly' was in perfect condition and added to the experience of seeing the city. We were able to navigate through many of the small, tight places in the city where larger tour vans wouldn't be able to travel.

Finally, special compliments to Chad's ability to not only provide a great narration of the tour but he is also able to expertly drive his 50+ year old manual transmission VW bus through the hills of San Francisco. I can't recommend this tour enough.

Oh, and btw, there are some copycats out there doing tours in VW vans, but Chad is the genuine original. The added local recommendations and complimentary photos were just the cherry on top of an already splendid day. If you're after the true essence of San Francisco, this tour is it. Chad gave us an awesome overview tour of SF. We only had 5 of us on the VW tour in "Harvey"so we were able to get great info and photo opportunities. I highly recommend this SF tour!

We took a tour (3 of us + 3 other people) of about 3 and a half hours in San Francisco in a 1970 minivan called 'Lily' driven by our amazing guide. The tour was beautiful, we stopped at several very beautiful points of the city, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower and the Painted Ladies. Our guide also kindly took several pictures for us, without even asking. He was truly of a unique and incomparable kindness. During the tour he told us a lot about the history of the city. We drove non-stop through the harbor area near Fisherman's Warf in Chinatown, the site of City Hall. He also made our son play a cute little game called Van Bingo and gave him a pin and sticker. At the end of the tour, he also left us some tips on places to visit and restaurants and cafes to eat at. If you go to San Francisco, this is a must-do tour! We still carry this tour in our hearts and the professionalism and kindness of our guide.

Chad is the nicest! We just came there and my mood was already boosted. His tour was just awesome: very entertaining, very interesting and lots of great photo stops. You could really tell that he knows his stuff. Overall an amazing experience and please if you are thinking about doing one of those tours, choose this one instead of any other copy cat company!

No need to look any further – this is the most delightful way to get to know the city! Our guide, Chad, put an immense amount of thought and loving care into providing a delightful and informative overview of the sights that provided the basis for further plans for our visit, including insights to the best restaurants and more. We were escorted about in a beautifully restored VW bus named Lilly that was greeted with smiles and waves of admiration from everyone who recognized how cool she is! Chad is also a wonderful photographer – our best photos of the trip we’re taken by him. He even has created a delightful mixtape of music to accompany each of the sites we visited. An absolute recommendation!

The tour was great and Chad, the tour guide, was awesome! He hit all the major iconic attractions and then some. As a history lover, I appreciate that Chad touched on all of the history of SF (that could be covered in 3 hours) in some way shape or form. He mentioned the contributions of different ethnicities and segments of the population. FYI, for those that might be worried that 5e van is too small or maybe you get motion sick. I get motion sick sometimes in the car but did not have a problem with the van at all. Oh also, hey communicate well. They replied to my initial text within an hour, confirmed my pickup location the day before and were on time picking us up. Highly enjoyable and highly recommended!

My wife surprised me with this tour for my birthday and it was one of the most memorable and wonderful gifts I've ever received! As a Bay Area native and someone who’s spent years living in San Francisco, surely I must have seen and heard it all. How wrong I was.
Chad went above and beyond to make this tour unique and personalized. His historical knowledge from past to present along with his passion for sharing everything from geographical to pop culture and musical facts kept me engaged, laughing (he's a funny guy) and left my wife and I in awe.

Definitely the coolest way to see all of the city’s essential sights in a few hours. We are SF locals and we’re blown away and learned so much and saw things we never experienced before. Chad is the best guide, full of incredible insights on SF history, architecture and culture all delivered in a fun way— there is even a cool SF soundtrack he has playing on the stereo! A true local character in the best sense possible, Chad has great jokes and had us smiling the whole time. Just a great guy you just want to be friends with. We absolutely loved it. Very fun, informative, and nice ride through the city. Amazing views and music during the ride. Great recommendations on places to eat, and must see attractions.

We took the tour with Chad and Harvey. It was the perfect way to see the city and learn about the neighborhoods and get special once in a lifetime views and experiences. Have done many tours in a number of cities and this was by far the best. The tour springboarded us to 3 additional excursions that we hadnt planned on our trip. Chad has a strong love of the city and can transfer that feeling to his guests. So well done. Recommend this tour strongly!

Chad our guide was absolutely amazing! His knowledge of the city was very interesting and his driving was first class. Our group had so much fun (ages 17 to 77). This was the best thing we have done here. I can’t rave enough. Please ask for Chad when you book this tour.

The tour of the city in Harvey (blue bus) was awesome and Chad is a great tour guide. I actually used to be a tour guide for this company for about 2 years and they are still just as cute and intimate as ever. I brought my girlfriend and her niece with me as it was her niece's first time here and she loved it! If I could give 6 stars I would. Highly recommend if you have never been to San Francisco before. Great way to see a whole bunch of of the city in a short amount of time! Thanks Chad!

Great tour, Chad was amazing and Harvey the bus, was a great ride. Learned so much about San Francisco as well as great music selections by Chad to set the mood of each part of the tour. Worth every penny. He also does beer tours I’d love to do at a later date.
