VCA Brentwood Animal Hospital reviews
16This vet may have been good before COVID. But during this time they are extremely inconsiderate. They make you wait outside in over 100 degree weather and call in to get your pet. Their phone lines are never open so 20 minutes after waiting in the heat and getting through, their answer is “you’ll just have to wait, we can’t get to you right now and your appointment time doesn’t mean anything”. Such terrible customer service and a horrible way to treat pets.
The Vets here are fantastic, the staff are not. Due to Covid you sit in your car and call when you arrive. My first visit I sat in my car for 45 minutes (on hold) until finally I got the attention of a tech who came outside and then my pet was taken inside. My second visit my call was answered promptly and my dog's visit was efficient, vet called me, credit card was charged, medications were brought to my car and then I waited and waited. It took one hour for my dog to finally be brought out to the car (when I asked a tech who came outside to please check). When my dog was brought out, she apologized and said the woman in charge of my dog forgot about her. Plan to spend 2 hours in your hot car.
We took our dog for a walk and he began to whimper and limp. We came home and our dog started throwing up and had white foam coming from his mouth. We called VCA Brentwood and listen to a message that said they were closed until 130 for a staff meeting. We called the backup number only to be told that they were full and cannot help us. We called the next number that was recommended and we’re on hold for about 20 minutes. All the time while our dog is vomiting. Finally at 1pm we decide to just drive to VCA Brentwood to see if they could help with our dog. We got to VCA Brentwood to be told that they were full and they cannot help. We told them that we were in the parking lot and they told us that they were full. I cannot believe the cruelty of this place. We have been going here with all of our animals for over 20 years. We love Dr. Brito but after this experience I will never set foot in this establishment again! To not take the welfare of a dog that is clearly in distress is unbelievable. I have tears running down my face as I’m writing this review. The ultimate cost is our dogs welfare.we feel utterly helpless!
I've been taking my fur babies to Kim Cavallo for years! She is very kind and professional. My babies love her and she always has treats for them! The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.
My veterinarian for a long time. Dr. Martin is like a friend and family to me and my 6 dogs. They offer a vaccination clinic on Saturdays when there is no charge for an office visit. Everybody here is excellent!
Dr. Carvalho is amazing. She takes her time and really lays out a detailed plan for your dogs health.
Bought a health plan for my puppy through VCA and it ended up working well and saving me money. When I had my puppy neutered, he ended up doing well with the surgery and was well cared for. Thank you VCA for keeping my baby healthy!
I really appreciate Doctor Martin and all the staff at Brentwood Animal hospital for taking care of my German Shepherd Dog for nine years. Doctor Martin has a great wealth of veterinary ability and I have relied on him over the years. It would be hard to find a better veterinary service.
Great Vet, really really great with my puppy Homer! Big thumbs up for Dr. Martin who was really caring and diagnosed him correctly the first time I brought my dog there.
They have hidden parking in the back. They have a long wait time buy the doctors are pretty good.
Highly recommend this hospital and specifically Dr. Olds. He fixed my puppy's broken leg and really went out of his way for both of us. He truly cares about animals, which is of course one of the most important things to look for when choosing a vet. I'm so grateful he was referred to me.
We are so pleased we know Dr's Martin and Olds. We always get good advice and excellent care for our dogs. Through the good times and sad times they have been there for us. Thanks for being there.
Great service, friendly vets and staff, clean and comfortable location. Just too pricey with a regular visit at $100.
Dr. Olds is one in a million- he is very experienced and was clear in communicating our beloved dog's health concerns. He outlined several choices and always kept the welfare of our pup in mind. It is rare to find such a compassionate and skilled vet and you will be thankful if you choose Dr. Olds to care for your pet.
We love all the doctors and staff at VCA Brentwood. They're very knowledgeable, caring and aren't trying to do extra tests or charge for more things. We love them!
Dr. Martin and Dr. Olds are GREAT vets. However, after they sold this long-established veterinary office to VCA, the office is not the same high quality.
Meanwhile, neighbors who formerly took their pets to the wonderful and revered Dr. Olds and Dr. Martin are sharing horror stories about the new VCA situation. Recommendation: Avoid VCA.
