Update: I do stand by my original five star review. However when I needed to put my fur baby down they refused. No emergencies no exceptions. I waited until Monday so I could take her here. She has been seen for 11 years here. It hurt me so bad that I have been so loyal and they did not care one bit that my dog was suffering or what that did to me. And believe me I begged but they still refused. What is the point of having vet care in our hometown if you can’t get in and they don’t care. I wouldn’t bother establishing care here again with a new pet. There’s no point. When you desperately need them they won’t be there for you. They’re heartless. Unless you can plan months in advance for your pet to be ill don’t even bother calling them. It’s ridiculous.

They know what they’re doing and they care about your pet. I went somewhere else in town with another person’s pet and it was a horrible experience. I would never trust my pet with anyone else. All these many years of taking pets here and I’ve had nothing but good service and quality care. Especially Dr Keitner. She’s absolutely amazing and kind.

We have been bringing our pets here for over 20 years, and we have gone through some very painful points in our lives when we have had to say our fairwells to our beloved animals. We have always been able to get whatever service we needed with our animals. We remember when there was a huge LIVE HAWK on a perch up high above the front desk on the railing. I thought that was super cool. I will say that vet service is not cheap, so be prepared to bring your debit card, as I have never left there without paying at least $100. I guess that is just the way it is. That being said, I am a satisfied with the service at Crestwood and would continue to use them.

Got my dog spayed here as well as a follow up appointment for some shots. The folks were friendly, but I didn't feel like I got enough time with anyone to chat about what we were doing and what needed to be done in the future. They were very busy so I felt rushed after waiting for almost an hour for <5 minutes of vet time.

EDIT: I guess nothing has changed in five years and they are still understaffed. I was told that they couldn't help with my sick dog for at least 6 weeks.thanks.

Although it was roadside service due to Covid19, I felt like my cat was safe and in good hands having to leave him overnight. I give them a 5 star rating

VCA Crestwood is the place we have been taking our pets to for more than twenty years.
They are good people who take excellent care of our pets while offering affordable prices.

Tried to get my dog scene by a "local" vet. One they were rude, second no empathy for my concern. Didn't answer the calls nor messages left.
I was wise and took my dog to Lancaster and got fantastic service, great same day service and True concern over my dogs health issue.
Poor service, poor turn around and not worth staying in town to get help. It's worth your time to drive a hour and a half to get the service your beloved pet needs.

Staff is always very friendly and helpful! Very kind & gentle with my pets. They take time to do everything they can to take care of any problems my pets have had. Used to avoid going here because of hearing their prices were really expensive.but have found the costs of their services similar to other vets I’ve used! Decided I really love these vets and their staff! Highly recommended!

Because they had me pay $300 and waste 3 weeks of dogs life with a misdiagnoses for which the wonderful vet in Kernville diagnosed her cancer 3 weeks later and gave her pain meds to help her til she passed

They are pro.folks, I missed my appt.today and they didn't get really mad at me for my lack of sleep the night before. I'm sorry and am reached here if needed. Thanks so much. V. Miller

Took my dog to get vaccinated and it took less than 10 minutes for the entire process. They even called following up to make sure my dog tolerated the vaccines. Staff was very friendly and approachable. Will take my dog here again in the future.

Charges way too much and give poor quality care. They charged me $550 to tell me my cat had ring worm on his leg, which it what had said I thought he had when I brought him in. They told my friend his cat had sprained his leg and it would get better in a couple of weeks. Fast forward 2 weeks the cats leg had swelled to over twice the size. The cat had an abscess not a sprained leg. They misdiagnosed this poor cat and almost killed him.

Called for emergency visit. I was told they can get me in 2 days. Don't think that would be considered an emergency visit.

Good hospital that takes care of routine needs. The only issue is if you have an emergency, they will not fit it in.

In the 2 years I have lived here my dog has had 2 emergencies. Once as a puppy her shoulder was broken by another dog. They would not fit me in and were closed the day it happened. Had to wait a week to see them and had to drive 1.5-3 hours to see a vet TWICE for the shoulder.

If your dog has a life or death emergency they probably wont live if they won't fit it in and you have to drive.
