My dog’s nose was scratched in our last visit and we received no apology. They didn’t callback when our dog finished treatment and make him stay in the cage for a long time. They asked us to pick up our dog at the back door to avoid other client from seeing this. After this treatment, our dog has bloody diarrhea for 5 days.

This vet has been good for us with a medium dog.

But their system of only faxing prescriptions to pharmacies has really made for a frustrating experience. Going on 2 months now waiting for flee/tick meds…

The doctors are ignorant, they babble through my visits. My dog had fractured fibula, they used incorrect size brace For money, they billed way more unnecessary bandage change which almost caused my dog to amputation. Luckily it was spotted by a stranger vet, and the leg was saved.

They seems busy, but you hear the lousy chitchat from the hallway.

You only get scam from this place.

I've been with this vet for years and they have been very accommodating, friendly, and caring. They found a vet doctor that would do a double knee surgery on my pup years ago. And found better meds for her seizures. They work around your budget and are honest about what your pets needs are, the priorities. The Care Club is a big bonus too, saves you lots of money in the long run.

Very, very disappointed with this practice. Jenn was fabulous with scheduling and follow up, and that is the only reason I'm even giving one star. I adopted a dog from San Jose Animal Care, and they recommended the VCA hospitals, so I made an appointment here for my dog's ear infection and first exam. The tech who brought us back was nice, and my dog was comfortable with her including for the ear swab that she took to assess the ear infection. After she left, we waited a bit for the vet. She was rough with my dog, and my dog clearly wasn't comfortable with her. She was also very pushy about doing many tests that were not necessary. We extensively discussed my dog's anxiety and the ver suggested a prescription to help situationally, to which I agreed. The tech came back with our "treatment plan, " which included multiple things that I hadn't agreed to. Next, she told me that she would be taking my dog back to the "treatment area" for the outlined treatments (that I hadn't agreed to). I said I was ok with the blood test for heartworm, the tech insisted that my dog needed her ears cleaned as well so they could check for infection.when they had already taken the swab. I asked how long this would take, and they said 45 minutes to an hour longer after I'd already been there for an hour! I said no, I will do the heartworm test another time, especially since I have had dogs before and know how quick the blood test is-who knows what else they were planning to do. She suggested that I come back later to pick my dog up, and I said no. The tech leaves to "rewrite" the treatment plan, and I heard nothing else. We sat in the room for about half an hour longer until I got a text from the front desk asking where I was! I responded saying that no one had come back and we were still in the exam room. I walked out, and was immediately snapped at by JoAnn at the front desk asking me why I was out of the treatment room with a contagious dog. I said she's not contagious with anything, they simply forgot us in the exam room. She checked us out, and we had to wait another 10 minutes for the ear infection medication and wash (I thought they weren't able to check her ears? Apparently they used the swabs from the beginning as any other vet would). Finally they come out with the ear infection meds, and I asked about the anxiety meds that the vet told me she was prescribing. They go back and check, and the vet "forgot" to fill the prescription that she suggested. They said I could come back in 45 minutes, but had to be sure to be there before they closed, or I could wait two days and come when they were open next. I said no thanks, left, and scheduled my dog's follow up with a different vet who would actually pay attention to our conversation.

My cat had diarrhea because he newly moved to our home. The first doctor gave us the exam result saying everything is normal. We mentioned his diarrhea to a different doctor for our second visit, new issue - sneezing, just to give her some context, in case anything was missed. Then she told the insurance saying my cat has a pre-existing condition, diarrhea…. I’m like what? We paid total like $500-$600 in this hospital, and they have diagnosed nothing but now my cat has a pre-existing condition, diarrhea? Will never come back again.

I had a great experience today when taking my lab in for a hurt paw. The Vet shared her initial assessments and recommendations, and was very respectful in considering alternative treatment options with cost considerations in mind. I have a very nervous lab who hates the vet, and she came out happy and excited when all was done.

Overall best service I have ever experienced with a vet. I usually leave with more questions than answers, and a thinner wallet.

My little guy was having some issues, and also needed a few things taken care of. My previous vet and other locations didn't have any appointments available for over a month. This place not only had an appointment available the following week, they called me a while later to inform me of an opening the following day!

Fast foward a couple of weeks later, my little guys issue was fixed and healed, and the dr.followed up with a call to see how he was doing. Nobody has ever done that.

The price was surprisingly affordable, and their service is spot on. I have been singing their praises to people I know. I am very happy to have found them. Thank you!

This review is long overdue. I have a rescue dog for 3 years and I absolutely love this vet. They’ve always been professional, friendly, and extremely caring. My dog has seen 3 different vets here (due to various scheduling conflicts on my end) and they’ve all been wonderful.
I am also part of their care club, which allows me to bring my pup in whenever I get a little freaked out or worried about his health, and the staff has always been encouraging and so invested in his well-being.
I originally went to a different local vet but wasn’t impressed and switched to VCA and haven’t looked back. Every little interaction is great.

The service was nice, it was all very professionally handled and COVID safe. Absolutely no complaints there. I went in with a kitten for the first time, so it was a very basic experience, so I can’t speak on how serious visits or emergencies are. The appointment was free with an online coupon but I ended up paying 55 dollars for some generic ointment that can be found online or at Walgreens for 10 bucks. I know that if I would’ve asked what was wrong and what was needed, they would’ve provided me that, I just wish I got some understanding or some papers reviewing how the exam went.

Our senior cat has been seen my the team at VCA Lawrence for over a year now and we are very happy with the detailed, skilled care they provide. Lab results are received quickly. The Dr's spend time explaining the results and making sure there is a clear understanding of the options available for treatment. The curbside service is convenient and easy. Our cat is typically brought inside for care within 5 minutes of arrival.

I have had multiple dogs come to VCA Lawrence, and every time I was given good service. They did tests to help me figure out why my newly adopted dog didn't want to eat and couldn't pee, and were very kind when telling me how sick he was. I will always appreciate the kindness they had for me then. They sent me all of his records and x-rays so I could confront the shelter on the amount of care they give their animals.

They have helped my pitbull through the long process of fixing a fractured front leg. They absolutely love her, and she always comes home with new fun designs on her splint.

I used to go to a vet in San Jose that overbooked themselves to the point that I couldn't get my elderly dog in to get a cough addressed for 2 whole weeks. VCA is very accommodating when there's something serious. I wish I had been using VCA when my elderly dog got sick because even though he had a tumor on his heart and didn't have much time left, I'm sure I could have gotten him into VCA much quicker and gotten him some relief.

The staff is really friendly and can answer questions you have. I'm very happy with VCA Lawrence.

Dr. Barnstable and her staff are amazing. Caring, professional, compassionate and very knowledgeable. We've found our forever doctor. Highly recommend!

Keep away if you have an overly exited, squirmy or skittish dog or cat. In my opinion, they do not seem trained to handle them or they will simply give up them. They want easy and well behaved animals or animals heavily medicated or sedated. So think twice before falling for their "careclub membership".

They were able to accommodate a last minute appointment for a ripped / bleeding nail. Gave us instructions over the phone on how to stop the bleeding and transport her over comfortably. Was able to be seen within 10 minutes of arriving. Prices seemed on par with other vets in the area.

Our corgi was seen by Dr. Gera and Chloe, both professional, friendly staff that seemed genuinely concerned about the health of our dog.

In contrast, we called our original VCA (one we've been going to for the past 8 years) and they didn't even check with their doctors to see if there was a last minute slot for us

Really disappointed in how they handled our most recent appointment. First of all, I can’t say how many times I’ve waited well over fifteen minutes in my car, in hot weather with an upset cat in order to be seen at this clinic. We arrived ten minutes late today with our cat sedated and they’ve made us reschedule our appointment requiring us to sedate our car again. The one time we arrive 10 minutes late and they cancel ours. Really disappointed.

Very slow. Most appointments waiting for over an hour including just a routine tech appointment. They only brought out my dog after I called them to inquire why it was taking so long. Need better system.

I took my cat here to get a check up and to renew her flea pescription and since I didn't want to go back to the Santa Clara site since it was a bit farther I came here. They offered a coupon since it was our first time here and also gave us a free dose of her flea medicine! They were very nice and professional and would highly recommend!

Worst experience, walked up mask on sanitized hands and cage. Was greeted by Alisha, who with a very rude and condescending attitude barked to "please leave the building" we are not allowing people inside". This admin needs a personality check. She has just lost a new client because of her rudeness.
