They are operating a scam, they’ll try to tax u 50 bucks or more without calling you first then when you question them they’ll threaten to hold your designer clothes hostage, the nicer the clothes, the higher they surprise tax when you go to pay at the end. And they don’t clean anything they’ll return your clothes with stains and dust

They tailored a brand new, never worn, silk dress (straps shortened) and tagged the dress (with pins or staples) smack dab in the middle back of the dress, tearing and pulling the fabric. No one proactively mentioned this issue to me at pick up, though the fabric tears are obvious. When I brought it to their attention, they refused to take responsibility and said I could bring it back in for a steam, which would definitely not resolve this. I requested a refund to make amends, they refused. Mind boggling why they would tag silk and not tag the actual tag on the dress.

Terrible job. My shirt wasn’t cleaned at all. 8 dollars to take it somewhere else. Still made me pay for it even after taking photos of it and seeing it was dirty

PLEASE READ ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS BELOW.

I've never left a review on a small business before, but like many of the other one-star reviews, I simply couldn't not do it here. People need to be warned about this place, and The Black Tux should find another partner. I would've gone to Dry Clean X-Press instead, but they push this partner at the store, and the 15% discount, which ultimately isn't worth the trouble.

Again, the horrible experiences others have had rang true in my own. Overpriced. Overcharged. What was perhaps the worst customer service I've experienced. And late. I've included a photo as evidence to this outrageous but true story, for whom it may concern.

On Sunday, February 19th, I dropped off my tuxedo with "Sergio S, " to be dry-cleaned and tailored, and was told I could pick it up on Wednesday, February 22nd, though I'd be out of town. I told them I'd be in Friday.

This Saturday morning, I showed up only to learn from the gentleman working that my tuxedo wasn't there. He called Sergio, and after five or ten minutes on the phone with him, I noticed it on the rack in front; I presume where it'd been left since I came in a week ago.

To his credit, this gentleman did rush to alter it that same day, and told me to come back at 2PM to pick it up. Of course, being that it was the same day, they assured me they couldn't dry-clean it, but would press it. A while later, I got a call that it'd be closer to 3PM, and at 3PM I received a call saying it was ready.

Like someone else mentioned, after trying on the suit, I noticed that not only were the pants a little long, but the left leg was longer than the right. And no, my legs are not different lengths. The gentleman working told me they could have it done by Monday, but feeling that at that point, these people couldn't be trusted, I opted to keep the pants the way they were so I could be done with the whole thing.

This gentleman who'd been helping me throughout the day then offered to charge me $150, instead of the $172.45 I'd paid them upfront; he would remove the dry cleaning and only charge me for pressing the suit, which was the best they could do on short notice. It's important to note here that for whatever reason, the receipt said not paid, but my credit card showed that not only had I paid on the drop-off date, but I'd been overcharged. The transaction amount was $181.07. I'm still not sure why. Of course, when he learned I'd prepaid, he told me that he didn't have the power to void the transaction, and that the manager would have to be contacted.

He then made a call to who I assumed was the manager. It wasn't. And as we're going back and forth about the issue and finding a solution, Sergio walks in. The timing was impeccable. It was like some bad comedy sketch. Sergio proceeded to tell me that he dry cleaned the tuxedo (he didn't), and then changed the story to, "You didn't ask for dry cleaning" (even though the receipt clearly says "Dry Clean Tuxedo Suit - 2 PC $26.95"). He seemed uninterested in mending the situation. Zero customer service whatsoever.

Ultimately, I kid you not, they ended up giving me $20 cash out of the register and said, "We have to talk to the manager. "

"What is this? " I looked at the cash.

"I will talk to the manager. Here you go. "

I'm not entirely sure there's a manager at this place at all, but if there is, I'd like to speak with them ASAP. Another person's review said they were told to contact someone who was the owner, only to find out they weren't. How shady? And any business that goes about replying to poor reviews by saying, "This isn't us, this isn't true, " etc.is certainly a business not worth visiting. I'm sad I didn't read the reviews first.

And also, for what it's worth, you're giving the people at The Black Tuxedo a really bad reputation. I've already alerted them of the experience and will be following up, and am hopeful they start sending customers to one of the many other reputable dry cleaning businesses in the area.
