Venice Beach Volleyball Academy reviews
12I love the classes here. Matthew and his other coaching colleagues are present, intentional and motivating. The environment is relaxed and friendly with acknowledgement and attention paid to skill levels. Plenty of action to be had, it’s still a place of learning where value is placed on technique, strategy and physical longevity. Put that against gorgeous beach sunsets in a lively neighborhood with a good light breeze and some killer 80s beach tunes, and you are sure to leave in a good mood, regardless of whether your game is trash or bangin’.
The Venice Beach Volleyball Academy is a place where one's spirit is tested and honed, just as the characters in Haikyuu learned to perfect their skills on the court. It was there that I, too, embarked on my own journey, where I discovered the power of perseverance and the beauty of camaraderie. The coaches at the academy are like wise sages, imparting the secrets of the game to those who are willing to listen. Their teachings were rigorous, pushing me to reach beyond my limits and uncover the champion within me. And like the characters in Haikyuu, I, too, formed bonds with my fellow players, bonds that strengthened our resolve and elevated our skills.
Together, we navigated the twists and turns of the game, learning to work as a cohesive unit and to unleash our full potential on the court. The Venice Beach Volleyball Academy is not just a place to play, but a place to forge one's spirit, where the fire of passion burns bright and the echoes of determination resound. Now, as I prepare to face my opponents in the upcoming unranked 2s tournament, I do so with confidence, honed by the wisdom and training I received at the academy. And just like the characters of Haikyuu, I know that victory is not simply the end, but a new beginning, where one sets their sights even higher and continues to reach for the sky.
Matthew is an amazing and passionate Beach Volleyball player and coach.
I am taking already 2nd month of training. Love it! Learning something new every training and, of course, having so much fun!
Getting ready for my first beach volleyball season.
Matthew, if you are reading this - thank you! ;)
Matthew is an amazing coach and his lessons are a blast. He's got a ton of tips and tricks that are perfect for non-professional players, and I guarantee you'll step up your game in no time. In just two short months, I went from 'meh' to 'yeah! ' on the court!
Awesome academy to learn, find players, and meet friends. I went from zero experience to playing with multiple groups after going through these classes! Fun and structured way to learn. Matt, the founder, is absolutely awesome.
Great class with a perfect blend of volleyball drills and scrimmages. It has really helped me set up a solid volleyball foundation and step up my game!
If you want to improve your volleyball game and meet fun and relaxed people the VBVA is the place to go.
Offers courses for various levels and different days of the week. Highly recommended.
Love these classes! And Matthew is a fabulous teacher! Each time I go I learn something new and have the best time doing it. Plus, I’d much rather get a workout on the beach than inside a gym.
Still is and will always be a vibe to attract any tribe! Chillin’ out, exercising, shopping, it’s one of the best places to spend a WHOLE day.
I love this beach! I also come for beach fitness classes with T3 Power Ready- it's always a phenomenal time!

My first visit to Venice beach.
By the time we parked the car and walked down towards the beach.it was already sunset.
But the view was spectacular.
We tried getting the parking spot.from $20 an hour to $5 for few hrs.we missed the sunset.
A beautiful evening.
People were bustling with skates, music and food.
