Ventura Townehouse reviews
17To start off the workers & residents are amazingly great here. Very well trained & nice people from dining all the way to the nurse side of things. That being said this is 1 star for the dining management team. My biggest issue with them was how they motivated us. Their motivation for us to work harder was “well we can always replace you” & “you can always leave” This left many workers feeling worthless and added to the already deteriorating Moral amongst workers in the dining facility. As it is happening now there is a large exodus of workers from the dining facility for the lack of true leadership.
The Ventura Townehouse memory care facility staff neglect memory care residents. We do not recommend this facility.
I have a personal friend (that I will not name) that worked here in the past. Other caregivers they worked with were horrible to residents. People who lived here with dementia were told nasty things about their family members that were complete lies. One example is that a women suffering from dementia brought up how she thought her 2 sons had stole her car (both of which were in their 40s at the time) two caregivers response was that they personally killed them! No action was taken by the managers after a formal complaint was made about the insident. Sadly this is only one of many events that occurred. Only a select few of the caregivers actually cared for the residents. Med techs were amazing so this review does not reflect on them. This event was a couple years ago but my main concern is the managers that over look abuse.
My mom stayed here for a few years. All of the caregivers are just outstanding and go above and beyond. My special thanks to Myra, Teddy, Erika, Leslie, Yvonne, Diana and McKenzie. U are all missed and you will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you ️️️
Management is rude to their staff, they don't open doors for the elderly walking by. Their doors are hard to open and swing back too aggressively almost hitting your back which is dangerous for the elderly.
My mother was a resident of the Ventura Townehouse for a little over a year before she passed. Our whole family has nothing but good things to say about the Townehouse, and only wish we would have brought her here earlier to enjoy all of the activities and friendships available. There are endless activities, social gatherings, transportation to just about anywhere in town, a variety of wonderful food, nurses on location, personal attention, exercise/fitness classes, dance classes, pretty grounds, a front desk staff that attends to your requests, and I could go on and on. We had a hard time getting mom to leave her home of over 30 years, but we all wish we could have talked her into it sooner. It has been proven that being around people improves quality of life. The whole experience for the price you pay is unbelievable compared to other places we checked into. It is a place I've already told my kids that's where I want to be when the time comes!
Great assisted living facility. The food is good. They have plenty of activities. They took great care of my dad. Visitor parking is terrible. Great views on the 7th floor.
I recently had a tour of The Townehouse by Samantha Crisp, as one of my closest friends will be moving there shortly.
Samantha was warm and inviting, and the the facility was lovely. The staff was delightful, and the food was amazing!
I am confident my friend will love her new home and stay very busy with all of the new friends she will meet and activities she will participate in!
My mother stayed there a year and a half. Only because of financial constraints I had to remove her. The facility was always clean and very welcoming. I would totally recommend this facility to anyone in need of senior care. They have a calendar with all the activities that are available to all the residents. Music, games, walks, etc.there is always something for them to do.
Staff very helpful and concerned always about my Mothers needs, the interior and grounds maintenance is exceptional. Dining provides healthy menus to chose from. Front desk staff always friendly and helpful. Best decision we every made bringing Mom here.
Evan and team are great to work with! Very friendly and helpful and will go out of there way to give you the time you need.
It will become your home away from home and you will love it.
At any age, whenever one makes a move, it takes an adjusting period.
That said, instead of looking in, move in and admire this welcoming beauty from the inside and outside.
My mother moved into the Townehouse several months ago and our family couldn't be happier with the facilities, the wonderful staff, and the friendly environment. A blessing and a fantastic choice for my Mom!
FANtastic experience at the Townehouse, they really go above and beyond to make sure all their residents are well taken care of.
Amazing food and activities help to keep everyone happy.
Evan and Jasmine are active listeners and problem solvers.
Very thoughtful and considerate staff. Samantha was particularly patient and honest about the options available for my parents.
The facility is very nice and we were able to tour several times to really get a feel for the Townehouse.
I will recommend the the Townehouse to my family and friends.
My 95 year old mother-in-law finally got tired of doing her own shopping, cooking and cleaning. After looking all over Santa Barbara, Oxnard and Ventura, the Townehouse was easily the best place. Lots of activities, friendly residents, 3 meals included, weekly cleaning and bed making included, beautiful grounds and walking paths, studios, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, plus a range of a-la-carte additional services if you need them. Too many more options to describe here!
Before moving into the Townehouse I toured five other similar facilities in Ventura, Camarillo, and T. O. None of the other Retirement Centers can favorably compare - in value, appearance, feeling of “home”, and friendly atmosphere - with the Townehouse.
