If I could give 0 stars, I would do so. Worst Internet service EVER with limited connectivity, horrible customer service, and purposeful slowing of Internet in order to make customer buy more data. With the highest plan, data still runs out after just a couple of days of regular Internet use and even when you have "data, " the Internet is spotty and unreliable, leaving you unable to stream a basic Netflix movie. Paid over $300 for years for this awful service and am so happy to have Starlink now, which is only $110 a month for Internet that actually WORKS. ViaSat had me thinking all satellite Internet systems were the same, but Starlink has shown me I can stream movies and have reliable Internet with no purposeful slowing down of the Internet after data is used up or during "congested" times.

Worst product/service ever. I live in the rural midwest and this was one of the only options for internet available. Now there is starlink in my area and it is literally a million times better. This company FORCES a 2 year contract, their service is horrible, it is NOT what they advertise (I was getting an avg of 15 KB/s and paying for at least 15 MB/s) this service is insanely expensive and if your card expires and you miss the payment date by even just a few days, your bill DOUBLES from late fees.their website is slow and terribly designed and you are forced to navigate it to pay your bills.honestly this is one of the worst decisions I've ever made, I learned my lesson, never again will I sign into any kind of extended contract for a digital service like this.this is borderline thievery and I feel deep anger every time I see the bill pay every month for this service because I never use it because it is TERRIBLE. Seriously, check to see if starlink is available in your area rather than pay for this service because it is simply not worth it.

This company should win an award for the shadiest company around and they don't even deserve the 1 start I'm giving. They lied before we even set up service, but unfortunately, we had no other option for internet at the time. The technician no showed us for installation, so we had to fight to have a new tech come out to install. I believe it took at least 2-3 weeks for installation. Even on sunny, cloudless days, we would have no internet on occasion. Our package (the only option available in our area) allowed 100mbs per month of the "high speed" data and then they dropped your speed to an unusable slow speed. You would then have to pay $40 to "re-up" your "high speed" because the slower speeds weren't even fast enough to check my email. And now we are being charged $195 ($15/month) for the 13 months remaining on our contract (that the installation tech signed without my knowledge). We asked that they cover half of the cancellation fee since they didn't provide the service we paid for, but we were told no and that there was no one higher up than the supervisor we were speaking with. This is how they make money because their customer service as well as internet service is terrible. I would highly recommend looking into Starlink before starting service with Viasat.

I moved out of my apartment in February 2021 and had to cancel my service. The man told me I could cancel but kept pressing me if there was an address that I could just use that I would be moving into instead of cancelling and I said no that I had no address because I became homeless during the pandemic and was living in my car. I said that since I left LA that I could not return the materials and that I wouldn’t mind paying that along with the disconnecting fee. I thought that would happen but somehow they’ve been charging me till this day on my other card and had not noticed till now. They told me that I could not have a refund since the employee that was helping me said that I’d call back to cancel which is was not even what happened because I was straightforward about getting my service cancelled so now they’ve charged me over 1,000 since that date. They will not reimburse me for the time that I had not even used the service. Truly unprofessional and really unfair for me to lose so much money over many months. I will keep asking about a reimbursement for this because it does not make sense why I should still be charged when that call I made was to disconnect my service.

They over charge just Because they are the only option for some. Then they throttle you so bad you have to pay for extra data just to get anything done. If you have issues and contact them. A rep will come in the middle of the day when no one is on the internet. Do an ookala speed test and then say looks like you got good speeds. That will be $90. Avoid at all cost. It is worth going with no internet just to wait for starlink.
They will constantly call you for their equipment when they paid for the shipping label. We had to tell them they received it. Once again. Avoid at all costs. Terrible service and terrible customer service

I am a vendor who had to deal with the finance person Camellia Fitzgerald. She was not knowledgeable and definitely not helpful in solving the concerns we had. She came off as very arrogant.

Absolutely the worst company by far. We have ViaSat Internet where we live (rural area). We do not have many things that are allowed to be on the ViaSat Wi-Fi. Everything (basically two TVs and a phone), the TVs are through Ruko only which has data saver on running at 480 and 720 and are not ever running at the same time (we unplug them from the power cord) ; the phone has no apps but YouTube which is at the lowest quality with no updating or background allowed. These devices are never really ran because we work quite a few hours a day and when ran we do not watch anything that would have to be watched in high quality like 4k; all are completely disconnected from the Wi-Fi (to which the ViaSat App says nothing is on Wi-Fi) ; yet it still continues to somehow drain 10gb of data as we are not home. And, yes we have the Data Saver clicked as well in Viasat. Every time they up their Plans/Prices they up the amount of data they say we use per day without just cause (it went from 3gb used then plans went up, so then it went to 7gb used then Plans went up yet again and now I'm using over triple the last one. I truly think they price gouge for rural areas and that they lie to the regards of how much data is actually being used per day to their customers. Something needs to be done about this. I have called multiple times without any resolution. It is always a repeat of the same answers. They say devices that are fully disconnected from the power source and tv drained the data that day. This thievery of not just data but money needs to stop.

I’m moving out of state. I asked to end my service. Since I had just paid my bill they said I would not be canceled till the next billing cycle. I said fine just send the boxes to return the equipment. They refused saying they would not send till after the service was ended. I explained that nobody would be at the home because I am moving out of state. I now have to ship the equipment, a modem, power cord, and an attached box from the dish on my roof, then have the box sent to my new home. This is a terrible company, the internet is the slowest around, and they are extremely expensive for the service. I would not recommend this company

Right off the bat, the customer service number is a absolute JOKE. Who put the stamp of approval on the cluster disaster. Zero way to contact any LIVE employees.
Complete waste of my valuable time.

Watch out for the 24 month contract that you are locked into and the $15 per remaining month cancellation fee, and subsequent slow speeds.

There is no trial period, so if your Viasat service can't handle zoom meetings or stream television, you're out of luck, you're locked in.

All you can do is pay for a higher service, which we had the second highest service tier, nd all Viasats plans have upload speeds of 3 MBPS, which is used for Zoom any way.

This is not the way a modern company should treat their customers. Locking them into long contracts.

Viasat, I'd love to hear from you.

Tried to cancel my Viasat service. Not under contract and was told no refunds - ever. 4 weeks left in the month and the customer rep verified my service was already disconnected. Asked to speak to management- was put on hold, then transferred to a phone survey. Beyond poor customer service! So thankful for our new Starlink service!

Awesome company! Satellite Internet is never the best option but if you have to this is the way to go.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Our wifi was knocked out due to a windstorm. We chatted with an agent and set up an appointment for three days later, which was the earliest available. Then, nobody shows up.
We called their service team (took almost ten minutes just to get connected to an actual person), and apparently our appointment was cancelled due to the tech being sick. No call, no email, no notification in their buggy app. NOTHING.
So now we’re going on over a week without internet, waiting another 5 days for their next available appointment. This is a third of one month TOTALLY without WiFi, despite paying almost $300/month for service. I cannot wait to cancel our remaining contract with this company, clearly they prey on customers who depend on rural WiFi service. If you have ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE, you should choose them. This company doesn’t deserve another penny of business!

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Worst customer service and support I’ve ever dealt with. Our tower broke and we needed a new one, explained this over the phone setting up the appointment. The technician shows up a few days later without a modem and says there’s nothing he can do. Wow. We call to reschedule, they say we need to find the old broken modem to replace it. It was trashed and long gone. Now they say to order a new one will take “several weeks”. We waited and supposedly it showed up and they were to install it the next day. They never showed up, no call, no nothing. I called to ask what happened and as if I was bothering them they said they had to reschedule. When I asked why they had no answer, literally. Still haven’t gotten it replaced. We are a functioning business with several employees, I haven’t been able to do payroll in almost a month because with the internet down I can’t check their hours. Viasat is an extremely unprofessional company with low standards for customer service and support. Do not use this company********
