Vien Dong reviews
16I think they are racist. I have had really bad experience with the staff trying to cash out people before me. When I’m first in line. A few of my other friends have had the same experiences. I prefer a store that treats me like a human being. Will be taking my business else where.
The market has everything I need. Small local vietnamese market with affordable price. Highly quality food, I recommend it to everyone
One of the oldest Asian market places in city height been there, I think, almost 40 years of family own. The price is pretty good for meat veggie fish.friendly worker clean fish they way you want so you dont have do it at home.
On my most recent trip to San Diego a friend recently took me to Vien Dong to buy fish for a BBQ. This is the place to go! I am certainly not an expert when it comes to Asian grocery stores but this one seems to be exceptionally well stocked. The fish market had many varieties of seafood that I have never seen before. Kimchee is a favorite for me to make and I found potential ingredients that will be fun to try.
First time here. Freshest seafood you can find. Came here because they had live dungeness crabs on sale for $6 - $8 less per pound than other grocery store anywhere, if you can find them. I ended up buying more than just the crabs.
This has been our go to store for the past 4years until last nite, my husband usually buys fresh catfish and they would clean it and do all that dirty stuff, but when my husband noticed they cut the head and took it somewhere else and wrapped it to resell it again, he wasn't sure if he should do something about it, for me I'd go back and recheck all the fish body parts to make sure they weren't taking pieces off from my order bcus I they weigh the fish in whole so I'd expect to have all my body parts of the fish that was paid for.check your fish and make sure they don't rob you too.we bought 3 catfish and only received two heads cut in two pieces and our tail was missing as well.who ever worked on Thursday nite around 4-6 pm was there on February 24,2022.please know that I hate to be rob by anyone, my husband knew id go back in but he didn't tell me till we got home which was 40mins away.so their lucky
I haven't been there few years at Vien Dong at University and 54 st. I prefer shopping at 52st and ElCajon Blvd.because some of the cashiers more friendly. I think my favorite one was gone. She was also working at Sprout. One day (around 2019, I wasn't sure) while she was swiping my groceries, she said I remembered you shopping in Sprout at El Cajon. She asked me if I lived in that area. I told her I didn't live there but my working place. Yesterday, I went to the 54st.because the store opened earlier than at El Cajon Blvd. I guessed God guide me there, I felt the friendly way to serve me as a moslem woman and I got a Chinese Calendar gift from the cashier. Thank you
I love shopping here. I just wish they had a bigger location. The employees and management are awesome. No complaints at all.
Huge Oriental Supermarket. They sell Orient foods which supplied from VietNam. Vegetables, meat, fish, crops, rice, beers, breads, and many American foods too.
Fair I don't have another place to buy seafood otherwise I would not go there
Also the majority of their customers are road and disrespectful that's why I want everyone to know what to expect when they going to this place
DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING YOU BUY!
The worst Asian market in San Diego.
I found moldy noodles, I told the manager about it and they didn’t try to get rid of the moldy noodles, in fact they just tried to arrange all the packages of noodles nicely so people won’t notice the mold.
One employee there a woman that acts like supervisor, ask her for the manager and she’ll tell you that they don’t have manager.
Really great place for some great groceries. Some really great Asian items you can't find easily. Some stuff is expensive though and the store outside looks like trash. Needs a paint job and power wash. Also the store looks like it hasn't been remodeled in years. I give it a 4 for having great selection of produce and fish.
Although we were visiting family. We always shop your locations whenever we are there. And we always recommend your stores to others. Outstanding again! Thank you.
Friendly knowledgeable employees and hard-to-find items
And they're not paying me to say this cuz I work for company.
But myself I like real food 52nd and El cajon Blvd,
Tell them Henry sent you. (+_+) (+_+) (+_+) (+_+) (+_+) (+_+) (+_+)
Ok. They need to educate most of their workers. I asked 3 workers and they all point to the same guy they believed knew everything but didnt. You should never have a single point of failure! Although they have a great variety of many things so they have that going for them and they do, to some degree have categorized things where they should be found though very vaguely.
The worst place I have ever shopped at. I am disabled and just for that, I was yelled at, belittled, treated beyond awful, given verbal abuse. This place should be shut down. I’ve never experienced anything even remotely close to that abuse at Vien Dong.
