Vino E Cucina reviews
17The older lady who was the server seemed annoyed we came in for dinner. There was NO one in the building. The restaurant was empty and the seating was “limited. ” Sat around waiting a lot for service. I got the gnocchi, the food was very blah nothing special especially for the price.
The food is ok, the dishes are very austere in my opinion, and the prices are not cheap considering the portions. The atmosphere is ok
I have gone to eat at vino e cucina twice, and both times we enjoy eating there, the pizzas, pastas, lasagna and the tuna were delicious, not to mention there Italian beer, I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, and I believe they still have a reservation system, so call in, and you will not be disappointed.
Unassuming but spacious with a welcoming staff even though we were not regulars-seems there were plenty of those. Food was amazing - so glad we found this gem by accident!
Vino E Cucina has been on my list for sometime since I frequent this street but have never made the time to visit here before. When we walked in they asked if we had a reservation, when we said we did not, we were still seated? So I’m not sure if it’s best to make one just in case but it was a busy weekend night and we were still seated.
The food had some highs and mids. Our favorite plate was the stuffed tortellini with mushrooms. It was super savory and creamy and balanced well with the pasta. It was absolutely rich and delicious. We used some of the homemade bread to finish the sauce
The calamari was yummy but lacked either more crunch or more zest with a lemon or something, but pretty mid appetizer!
The other pasta dish we got with clams was good, but lacked sauce or substance. It was okay!
The tiramisu was class and good but sadly I was left disappointed with the cannolis. The mascarpone was too sweet for my liking and the chocolate just added more sweetness.
Overall I do want to come back and find those hidden gem dishes such as the tortellini, because if that dish was THAT good I’m sure there are others!
Our food was amazing and the service was fantastic. As it is a smaller restaurant with minimal soft surfaces, it does get quite noisy with people talking, then talking louder as it gets busier and wine glasses get low; then louder to overcome the tasteful music playing and etc. I LOVE this restaurant, that's like the only thing for me, and it doesn't stop me from coming. Also, bomb tiramisu!
Just discovered this excellent Italian restaurant. Owner has great credentials from Portofino, Italy, the Venetian in Las Vegas and L'Opera in Long Beach, CA. Voted best Italian restaurant in Long Beach 2 years running.
Do Not judge the food on the bread. Don't bother trying the bread. I'm not certain how they call it bread. I honestly no joke almost told our group to leave if the bread was any indicator of the food to come.and it was a special occasion so I didn't want to risk it but we had already opened a bottle of wine so I was willing to chance it.
-But the foooood?
The stuffed pasta pouches are AMAZING. Get them.
Also the spaghetti, the pesto and Bolognese are great.
All pasta al dente perfection with perfect chew and perfect give.
Fried artichokes for starters? Yes, the portion could afford two more pieces, please.but seriously, them there stuffed pouches. I need seconds!
I had my Birthday party here before the pandemic. I just hosted a friends Birthday party and it is still the same, great food, great service. And a nice atmosphere.
This was our first time here, and it was Father's Day (evening). The food was very good. Small portions on the pasta dish. Warm bread with oil and vinegar before was nice. Our server was extremely nice, but service was slow, could have been from the holiday and possible shortage of staff? I feel like for the price of the dishes, a side salad or? Something should come with the dishes. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Was there for a graduation party. Owner and staff were nice, service was excellent & the food was great. My wife and I will definitely be going there for dinner soon.
I must have been living under a rock to not have been aware that this place was here, so close to home. First of all the food is as close to legitimate Italian food as possible. Everything we ordered was delicious and we'll presented. The servers and personnel were friendly. I had the ciopino soup and it was to die for. I can't wait to go back and try their other offerings. My wife and kids liked their food equally. We all have been to Italy and we can easily refer anyone to this place if they want to try real Italian food. The bruscheta is my barometer to measure the quality of the food relative to Italy's and theirs is second to none.
Been here many times. Food is constantly very good. Outstanding wine list. Great service. It is a gem!
Food was very disappointing. Most dishes were very bland. Had to ask for salt and pepper. Not sure why this restaurant has such a high rating.
I ordered the pasta carbanara and some other dish. I'm livid. There was absolutely zero flavor. Dominoes pizza makes better pasta dishes. Extremely disappointed. Literally anywhere would be better
Rosario has been an original there. We had the Gnocchi and Contadina, with a nice Montalcino red I brought in. They have a wonderful wine selection also! Tuesdays are a perfect evening for a quiet meal! Love the food!
Excellent appetizer, excellent dessert, good wine. Food was good, portions small. Menu wasn't descriptive enough.
