Great environment for family and kids. Also is a afternoon School Site where kids can use the indoors and outdoors facilities. Especially enjoy the water fun area where kids and their parents can spray down in the summertime. Great fun for all.

Nice well maintained park. Offering many service's for seniors and residents. A library on site. A very nice park. Good welcoming atmosphere. Locals from the so-called pico neighborhood frequent this park. Friendly folks. Stop in and get to meet some new friends

The splash pad during the summer is the best for little kids! Lots of green space for picnics and bbq. That doesn't even take into account the library or the Saturday farmer's market. The basketball courts get a lot of use, as do the green spaces for soccer and workouts.

Decent parking. Swell grass and courts. Playgrounds sufficient for small kids. Well kept area.

No dogs allowed, even on leash on the playground areas.

On a Friday at 12: 30 pm, there are more than abundant number of panhandlers, vagrants, homeless, and hustlers. All of them persistently polite in their approaches.

The problems plague all government controlled property. The presence of the unwanted electronic management systems. The city's should concede the parks to the people.allowing the neighborhood to select volunteer committee to secure all services from those who will benefit the most: property owner

This park is home to the Saturday Pico Farmers Market. The market is great, although not quite as good as it used to be. Except for the market, I don't spend much time in this park, but walking around it seems that there is a nice children play area, a basketball court, and other community facilities that are well-maintained and attractive. There is also the newest Branch of the Santa Monica Public Library, which is a great Public Library. The new Branch seems to be focused on computers and audio and visual media.

Really nice park with lots of options for kids of all ages. 2 nice basketball courts, large grass area for various sporting and games, a playground, and a small library with a variety of foreign language books. The one downside is that there were several homeless folks sleeping throughout the park while I was there.

A nice little park in the heart of Santa Monica it has a beautiful little place structure, a library, and a lot of common areas with trees that shade the grass.

It's a nice open place for families, friends, gatherings, picnics, and celebrations. There are meeting rooms, a library, picnic tables, barbeques, a playground, basketball courts, bathrooms and a walking path. Take your dogs (on leash), kids, grandparents, your whole family or a blanket and a good book. There are markets and restaurants nearby in case you wanna grab something to eat.

What they don't have is a tennis court, baseball diamond or a bunch of organized sports where uptight parents, overly competitive adults, and a bunch of kids take over the park.
There's parking off Pico, Cloverfield and Virginia Park. The Santa Monica Blue Bus runs on Pico. The Expo Line isn't too far but I suggest getting off at Sepulveda and taking the bus down Pico.
And if you should run into a group of homeless folks hanging out or having a barbeque, they are just having a good time like any other group of people. No need to be afraid. Maybe you could strike up a conversation. After all, they are your neighbors too.
Enjoy your day!

This is a great park for everyone. It holds a very good Farmer's market on Saturday with loads of fresh, some organic, produce plus baked goods, etc.
The park offers compfy surroundings, open spaces for children, basketball court, grassy areas. There's a library, classrooms for health and wellness plus space for children's programs and exercise. It's a wonderful open space in the Pico neighborhood.
