Vons, Bishop CA

I've been visiting Bishop and surrounding area for about 15 years now. Explore a little more each time. Every time that I stop here, most recently 8/30 & 8/31. One thing I have come to realize, everyone passing through, needs to slow down and not pick at every single thing that isn't to their preference. If little things like "floor signs" and "rest rooms being out of order" are going to ruin your day, look for another outlet to rant. No need to take it out on the great, friendly people that work here. I asked questions, not only did I get and find what I was looking for by asking an associate or two, I received the knowledge and service with a smile. From the gas station, to the cart kid in the lot, everyone greets and smiles. Something unheard of these days. Guess people have somehow decided to take issue with manners and courtesy. So thank you VONS employees for making the distance from home seem much closer.

This Vons needs to train their employees on customer service. I have a big birthday party happening this weekend so I filled my shopping cart to the brim with groceries, I get to checkout and the cashier looks at me and makes a remark and her and the bagger start laughing I immediately knew it was because of how full my cart was which I get it it’s a lot of items but don’t make the customer feel bad. As the young lady that was bagging my items almost was finished she said “OMG PLEASE TELL ME THERE ISNT ANYMORE” her and the cashier looked so annoyed so I kept apologizing I felt so uncomfortable. Last time I shop at vons.

Fine. Also fresh meat, fruit and vegetables Vegetarian range is lousy but we are of course very spoiled in the Netherlands. Staff very helpful. Also accept credit card.

11: 40 am. Passing through town. Know level of service usually at Vons. This place was a waste of time. Women's restroom was Out of Service, tore up, not for cleaning. Then go to check out and older male cashier is totally engrossed in conversation with coworker to even acknowledge a customer. The bagger noticed and was uncomfortable about situation but, after a nice exchange with him, still ignored completely by male cashier, I left.
ZERO stars for this Vons.

This Vons is unique in how terrible it is. I've mistakenly touched raw meat here a few times because they wrap it with a type of plastic wrap that easily catches and rips. This is the only Vons that uses this weird wrap. Also it's freezing inside, so you have to bring a jacket even if it's hot outside.

Easy in and out with my RV. Clean store, well stocked, with great customer service. And gas station in the lot with best price in town plus discount from rewards!

Camping nearby, we came in to get some supplies. The store was stocked and consistent with Vons stores but their checkout line (s) were completely disorganized. No floor signs to say where the self checkout starts and stops, people were cutting in line, people were annoyed when someone who went to checkout not knowing there were others in line. Several kiosks were out of order and only one gave cash back.

Every single refrigerator was down. Wasting my time going in there looking for what I need and can’t get it. I expect more for such high prices.

They are well supplied and prices are high everywhere in 2023. You can get real savings if you're a Vons club member (it's free) and earn earn gas points for up to a dollar off a gallon.

Terrible experience in deli dept. Waiting for only clerk to finish helping a lady and 3 people came up together after me, he finished helping the lady and went to the other people. I said something and he just smiled so I responded in their native tongue and left. Not the first time that has happened to me

I hate having to step foot into the Vons in Bishop. The management is rude, their customer service has closed early on Fridays due to lack of funds (they are the ONLY option to cash my payroll check if I work on Friday). I can't think of a visit to the Bishop Vons that hasn't ended with my leaving without a knot in my stomach! Horrible horrible place!
