Walt's Cycle reviews
12I've purchased 3 Trek bikes from Walt's, including kids mountain bikes and a high-end road racing bike, and they have been great. They have a friendly and full staff, and service department. In one particular case, they went way above and beyond to help me through a stressful service/warranty problem with the manufacturer, and I will be bringing my bike back here for all future servicing.
Very Irresponsible service, they told me have to wait 2 months to fix my new tire which purchased here and popped 4 days later. So disappointed.
Mostly incompetent staff all around - it’s as if they try to fabricate creative ways to Not want to have your business.
I just got hit on my bike by a car TODAY. After dealing with that I rode to the nearest bike shop, absolute gentleman. Mr. Jim fixed my bike ON THE SPOT and didn’t charge me. I am EXTREMELY grateful. He fit me for a new helmet, best one they had. That I definitely paid for but well worth the price. Thank you!
Heard nothing but great things about Walt's Cycle so I brought my bike in for new tires and tubes. The customer service rep was great. Looked at my current set up and said im not due for new tires yet but eventually I would need to replace them. Opted to replace it with new tires and tubes and was told the bike would be ready sometime tomorrow. I got a text about 3 hours later stating my bike was ready. Thank you so awesome they finished the work same day. I went to pick up the bike and rode it home. As I was riding back I noticed a rattling noise in my rear tire. Sounds like something broke off inside the rim. I took it back to Walt's and they were able to take it to the back and see what the rattling was. Not sure what part of the wheel that broke off in the rim but I did not have that rattling sound prior. Ive owned the wheels for 2 years and had the tires and tubes changed plenty of times. I appreciated the fast service but not one apology that they somehow broke a piece in the wheel. The mechanic was super nice and showed me what was rattling inside, but due to the design of the wheel the opening is smaller then the piece that is loose. Overall the customer service at drop and pick up were great, but if it aunt broken before at drop off and now something is wrong, I expected ownership and an apology. Ive been working in customer service for over 15 years and I hate it when I make a mistake but I own up to it.
Great service, were quick to be attended to, big collection of bikes and accessories, but pretty busy place. Felt a bit expensive, especially as I moved from OR a year ago.
But overall, they know their job well.
Amazing store with helpful employees. I purchased a rear storage rack here and it broke while I was transporting groceries.luckily I was very close to the shop and they helped me repair it!
I came in to upgrade software on my bosh ebike system. Very professional.
Great shop with good people.
Super helpful and knowledgeable staff.when i dropped by with breaks misconfigured they fixed it in about 30 seconds for free
I've been going to Walt's for over two decades now, through staff turnovers and management changes and recessions and pandemics and the entire time they have been the most customer-centric bike shop I've ever heard of. They have many times talked me down from spending lots of money, finding ways to get me the most out of my bikes without wasting my cash. Their repairs have been great, they are always friendly. They seem to know what they're talking about, and are not shy about debating with each other to find the best solution to a customer's problem. They have great stock, too, and have always been able to find the parts they need to fix whatever weird problem I've run into.
Even though I've had closer bike shops (I haven't lived in Sunnyvale for some time), and have occasionally tried to move my business elsewhere for convenience, I always return to Walt's.
Great Blke shop with great service. Mariano their bicycle mechanic is very knowledgeable and an asset to Walt's Cycle. Gilbert, James and the staff are very friendly and professional in answering questions and providing product assistance. I recommend Walt's Cycle in Sunnyvale California for your next bike or for servicing your existing one.
