Washington Colony Elementary School District, Fresno CA

Although there is a good amount of teacher autonomy, there is complete chaos in the administration and office. It's been 2 years and I've not been reimbursed over $500 for supplies I bought for events I organized. A new teacher did not have her pay scale adjusted for her teaching experience until 2 months after she started putting her in hardship. The discipline is lacking and all the power is given to the head janitor. From field trips to assemblies to activities to grades there is mass disorganization. Students aren't given timely IEP's or timely special ed support for their learning disabilities and teachers are not supported. They are constantly short of subs and use the teachers that are supposed to be teaching reading, music, and PE as subs, keeping them from helping the students as they are supposed to as spelled out in their financial plan. And there's a reason why they don't publish their payscale- one of the lowest in the valley.

Absolutely horrible school and the staff should be ashamed this school needs to be looked into they have continuously refused to get my daughter any help with her ready but make sure to tell us she is failing because she is struggling to read we put her in every reading program offered to be told she was never actually going to the programs because they didn’t have teachers and now that it’s time for a new year and I’ve been pushing all of last year to get her help they are telling us she is no longer in their district because she spends half her time at her dads who is only 15 mins away I am so fed up with this garbage school

They really don’t care about the kids here and the lady mrs Diaz doesn’t care. The fact she is with kids amazes me. She does put herself first.
