Wayo Sushi Restaurant reviews
18All this fresh seafood for $25? Unheard of. Also, the sushi chef was the cutest old man. Will be coming back.
The food was one of the best sushi spots I have been to in SF! The quality and overall flavor was amazing perfectly balanced + and the prices were manageable as well, would definitely go back!
Very glad that Wayo remains a mainstay for the neighborhood. Consistent quality and service
Incredible sushi. Mamoru is the owner and sole employee- chef, server, dish washer, etc. Super high quality fish served at reasonable prices and with extreme care.
Very good sushi and appeared to be a small one man show. Definitely call ahead for a reservation if you'd like to check it out as seating is limited inside.
Excellent but you need to reserve your seat well in advance. Toro tuna was the best sushi I have had outside of Japan. Service is excellent. Drink menu is anemic but you wont care after the tuna and the mango spicy tuna roll which is amazing.
It always a pleasure to eat at WAYO sushi.
The couple are super nice and always smiling and explaining everything.
The food is just PERFECT!
It's better to call before to reserve a spot.
Highly recommended!
Authentic Japanese sushi bar. Best maguro, and amaebi of my life! And that toro! Bravo! Domo arigato gozaimasu!
Best sushis I've had in San Francisco!
The sushi chef was also kind enough to allow us to stay even if we had no reservation as he was very busy serving other customers.
Also I would rate as A1 the cleanliness of the place, and the care the sushi chef takes when he handles the food, making sure the fish stay refrigerated at all time.
I highly recommend this sushi bar!
The sushi was amazing! Best unagi I’ve ever had. Taki was incredible too. The woman serving us was also so sweet. Highly recommend this place.
Just the best sushi I’ve ever had. Never had such fresh “toro” and “hamachi”. Really a must. Reservations only.
Wayo was my very first sushi experience years ago haven't been there in a while but I'm sure they do not disappoint. I'll be seeing you guys soon
Good spot, three dollar signs not two though. Prices are good but rolls are small. Ate 40 of food in about 45 seconds. Hot tea out of this world, they add Barley (I think) to it to give it this earthy taste, complements the saltines of the soy sauce perfectly.
Please take cash for tip if you are paying with card! 3 people and the bill was a total of 64$. The sushi was amazing, the salmon nigiri just melted in my mouth. All the rolls are very well priced and the quality of the sushi was incredible! The waitress was absolutely the kindest human to walk on the earth. It’s a hole in the wall but well kept! Will definitely be back!
Solid, old school sushi spot. Run by a lovely Japanese couple. Excellent quality for the price.
Awesome place. Very small, simply ran, humble—but delicious food and great service. Thankful we were able to stop in.
Excellent neighborhood joint serving up tasty sushi at an affordable price. The restaurant is run by a couple and all the sushi is made by the husband. It’s unassuming and cute inside with seating to fit around 10 people.
Impressive sushi, friendly staff. Restaurants in Japantown is closer to me, but this place is worth the extra 5 minute walk. I think I just found my new go-to sushi spot
