Weed Airport Rest Area – Southbound reviews
15Great place to pull over and rest a bit, it's right next to the interstate so don't expect a quiet nap
Clean restrooms, lots of space, really interesting historical facts display and really pretty setting/scenery.
Great rest stop, clean and it has a dog park as well. Nice view of Shasta. There happen to be a fire that day but still a nice view.
This is a must stop to get pictures of Mount Shasta. It is right across from the Weed airport.
FYI, the auto portion of this rest area has been reopened after months of being closed due to construction. OPEN on 2022Jan25.
A good weary rest getting over the Oregon boarder. Be sure to gas up before coming over because California will definitely screw you on the price.
Nice rest area. Watch out for the Giant flower pot. Some guy tripped over it and split his head open while we were there.
Lots of parking, welcome opportunity to.unwind from driving and stretch! Clean and well.maintained restrooms. A nice break in a long trip!
Beautiful place to stop when trucking. I stay 10 hours to rest here when I can. Check out MT Shasta!
Bathrooms were clean, nice "pet areas" to take your dogs for the restroom, older outdoor structures but are standing up to time.
Beautiful scenery. I always stop here to stretch my legs on my drives between Seattle and Oroville CA.
Always well maintained - unlike many others along the I-5 south of the Sacramento area. Gotta get parked before about 9 or 10pm cuz it gets a bit crowded.
Beautiful rest area. Nice views all around. A bit small (in lot size) in comparison to some others. It was crowded when got there otherwise clean.
A friend asked: do people smoke weed as they rest there?
My answer: No but I understand your question.
Do you need to use the restroom while traveling the I5 corridor? How about a stretch? Are you in the weed area? How would like a good view and private air strip near by for your "conveniences? " You are going to love this place! It's got all those things PLUS truckers! That's right good ol salt of the earth truck drivers tons of them! So if you are into that kinda environment (aren't we all) come on through and check it out you will not be disappointed.
I'm a fan of the Weed rest stops because you can't beat the view. Mount Shasta is right there and so are the lovely surrounding volcanic mountains and scenery. A very nice place to stretch your legs, use the rest-rooms and take photos (yes, a photo-opp in a weird place). Enjoy the place for a rest on your long or short journey.
