WellCat Health Center @ Chico State reviews
4Hard to get appointments within 2 days. Staff are nice. But they don't treat you for anything. Its embarrassing.
This is a great service for students who don't have health insurance. They offered high quality care in an efficient manner.
I've frequented dozens of various medical centers because I have a multitude of physical and mental issues. I would rate this place among the worst. I actually find the staff to be quite likeable, but there is an obvious way in which they choose to view their patients, and it is not in a particularly agreeable fashion. For example, MY MEDICATION WAS CUT WITHOUT WARNING DURING FINALS WEEK because they wanted proof of my diagnosis'. They had never asked for proof before - no doctor in the past ten years has ever asked me to provide them my original diagnosis. That's because its simply not necessary, and acquiring medical records from over seven years ago is no small feat. After this I was given a series of hoops to jump through that were all dead ends, and I even started to assume they were meant to waste my time. My provider had managed to somehow waste hours of my life (during finals week).
It should not be overlooked that this took place directly after I had an issue with one of my professors. There is no doubt in my mind these things are related. I'm a transfer student and have never once had any problems with staff at my previous college. As a matter of fact, because I'm a little older, I would associate more with them than my fellow students. I wish it was the same way here, but the staff of Chico University does not have the mentality of being of service for its students, but rather, perhaps feels their students are meant to be of service to them. Or maybe they just don't like me, I don't know. Either way, ZERO STARS - AVOID.
Appallingly bad experience and extremely rude staff, it feels like they do not take students seriously nor do they want to. Also overwhelmingly unaccommodating to student's schedules - everyone I know who has gone has had an awful experience. Shouldn't exist on campus anymore frankly.
