Rene has proven to be an absolute expert in ADU construction. I've referred his company to three different clients, and they've all thanked me for the introduction. I hired West Coast Building and Design to build a multi-generation complex for my family.   This review is part 1 of 3 projects.   The first project was for a 1200 square ft ADU where I would live.   When we first started the ADU the projection for completion was 6 months.   Unfortunately, we were just at the tail end of the pandemic and there were many delays from the city, SDG&E, supply chain issues and an unusually very rainy season. I’m grateful to have had Rene as the builder because he found ways to work around some of these issues.   He listened to what I wanted – even if it meant changing and redoing a few things.   I am now living in my beautiful home.   I look forward to Rene starting on the next project: converting a garage into my disabled son’s sensory/OT room.

Oh, I’ve been six visiting a friend right next to a project that they are doing and the amount of extra noise and dust that they create on top of the essential noise and dust needed to do a demolition is pretty impressive. They have blaring music starting at 7 AM and use a gas blower to clean up sawdust and probably all sorts of other lead based products from the 1960s that they are tearing down from this residential property.
I understand that demolition is difficult work and I also understand that hanging out with friends and doing the work. Sometimes we talk about things that we wouldn’t normally talk about but it’s been a couple of months of this and it’s the same every day. All of the neighbors have asked them to be more considerate and this company is not interested in anything but doing what they do and evidently the way they feel like doing it unfortunately a number of us have gotten sick because of the dust that they’ve been blowing into the air so we’ve been forced to call the environmental department of San Diego county so hopefully we can see a little less of whatever there blowing into the air.

Very much appreciated working with Rene! He was very communicative and, with the exception of delayed products due to supply chain, his timelines were realistic and spot on. We are thrilled to have our ADU completed by West Coast Building and Design. We would definitely work with him again!

We had a great experience with west coast ADU. Rene and his team were outstanding to work with and completed all the steps of this complex project with a high degree of both quality and integrity. Rene dealt with the city and SDGE through the complex permitting process as our project required over 150ft of trenching and navigating a maze of state and local regulations.
