West Dermatology Encinitas

I’d found a primary care doctor but I hadn’t taken the time to find a dermatologist since I moved here from SF almost a year ago. So when I had what felt like an urgent and unexpected need to see a dermatologist, I started making calls hoping to get a same day appt with someone with a stellar reputation. After making a number of calls, I was led to West Dermatology and Gary Vanetsky, PA. Even though he was completely booked for the day (not surprising, he has over fifteen hundred reviews with a 4.9 rating!), Gary agreed to see me. He was knowledgeable and extremely helpful and WD’s staff made me feel like a valued patient from the moment I walked into the office. I am so grateful to everyone I dealt with and especially to the person who took my call, listened to my need, and went the extra mile it took to find a way to squeeze me in. I feel very lucky that, when in a pinch, I found my way to West Dermatology, Gary Vanetsky, and a very professional and compassionate staff.

I’ve been going to West Coast Dermatology for years for bi-annual skin cancer screening. The team is great. Gary Vanetsky, PA is my favorite.

Dr Riley was not concentrating on my visit.she seemed "out there" not nice either.abrupt and RUDE!

My visit yesterday during Covid was handled with the utmost caution. Temperature, hand sanitizers available everyone wearing masks only two people in the reception at a time. Dr Gary was his usual professional self.

West Dermatology in Encinitas has a great staff and everyone is friendly and helpful! Dr Gladsjo is always smiling, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! She is a wonderful doctor who cares and her bedside manner is superb! She was my surgeon who removed a benign tumor and I was so impressed by her that she is my Dermatologist!

Dr. Gary Vanetsky is very attentive and thorough in his examinations. He patiently listens to you and answers each of your questions with knowledgeable accuracy.

While 2,500 miles from home I needed to address a couple skin issues. My daughter set up an appointment for a complete body check. Comprehensive exam, biopsy, a few spot treatments, and now peace of mind for another six months. Some of the nicest medical personnel you’ll ever encounter!

Dr. Gladsjo explained what she needed to do about the worrying developments I was seeing her for. She quickly froze one spot, biopsied another and assessed another as simply scar tissue. Then she and her assistant explained follow up and told me to expect a call about biopsy results in 7-10 days.
