Western Los Angeles County Council, Boys Scouts of America reviews
5A wonderful place to work with compassionate and caring volunteers and staff committed to ensuring the positive development and engagement of youth
I've watched a variety of youth transform in the Scouts BSA program to amazing adults. Western Los Angeles County Council has some amazing camps in the Santa Monica Mountains, on Catalina Island, and in the Sequoia National Forest for once-in-a-lifetime adventures.
I have been a part of this program since 1980 when my oldest child joined. It teaches leadership, values and a host of new hobbies. The outdoor experience and adventure is among the greatest for kids, and their parents. Scouting is about friendship, fun, adventure, leadership, outdoor skills and life skills. This is a trustworthy and reliable program for every kid, no exceptions.
Big debt of gratitude owed to WLACC. This organization helped make me a better, more capable person and gave me so many outdoor experiences most kids in the LA area never get (especially at their unparalleled and internationally recognized mountain, Whitsett, and island, Emerald Bay, camps). Then it gave me the chance to give back and help the next generations of boys and girls grow their character and grow their love of the outdoors. So grateful to the staff and volunteers who have made this happen so well for decades!
One of the best leadership programs for youth in the world. From Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA Troops, to Venture Crews to Sea Scouts there is something for everyone. The campgrounds are wonderful and the staff are all dedicated to creating a safe environment for children to learn and grow as leaders.
